I really feel like Janae Keyes has a very interesting/original writing style that I can't seem to get enough of, and Would Smell As Sweet is no exception at all. Shayna thought she met the man of her dreams, but that dream quickly turned into a nightmare that she couldn't get away from. So, she packed up and headed to Cotton Springs, Texas where her mother has built a life. She wasn't sure how well it would go, but things took an upswing pretty quickly, as she got a job, & made friends quickly. There's also a man name Brian that she feels an attraction for, but as he's a jokester, he quickly offends her greatly with his pranks. Despite that, they start spending time together, and realize that the connection they feel is too strong to ignore. But there's still the little problem of her dangerous ex-boyfriend who would go to any lengths to find her again. This story was super fast paced that kept me on the edge of my seat. Yes, the little town in Texas was charming, but I knew that Shay's stalker wouldn't stay in the shadows forever. But in the meantime, Brian and Shay really shared some serious chemistry that finally exploded into flames which led to some fun sexy times. And the colorful cast of secondaries were so entertaining that they kept me laughing a lot. Of course, with the talented Ms. Keyes, there were some dark twists that forced some loud f-bombs out of my mouth. All in all, this was a great read that I loved, and I cannot wait for more from this author especially since I'm STILL WAITING for the third book in the Champagne Bubbles & Lipstick Stains series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Pretty good entry from one of my favorite authors

Although this isn’t my favorite story from Ms. Keyes, it’s a solid entry and I think that many romance fans would love it.

This story also does not contain many grammatical errors which is refreshing. My only pet peeve is that, occasionally, she will use the incorrect pronouns in her sentences. “I, he, she, we, and they” are Nominative case pronouns. When prepositions like, “from, to, with, etc.” are used, they trigger the Accusative/Dative/Instrumental cases (in English, unlike many other languages, there’s no meaningful difference between those cases). The Accusative/Dative cases require “I, he, she, we, and they” to become “me, him, her, us, and them.” So it’s, “Bob and I went to the store.” However, it’s, “They gave a present to Bob and me”.

I’ve seen this error is several of her books, and it always takes me out of the story for a bit.

I absolutely adored this story. Shay and Brian are so sweet together. They overcome so much and continue to fight for their happiness. True love really does conquer all. This story is definitely worth the time to read, the plot is excellent, the characters are all believable and well written, the main characters are absolutely adorable and the bad guy is as sick as just about anything I have ever read I'm definitely reading more from Janae Keyes.

This was a nice suspenseful book. I love the that despite the fear Shayne was living with she was able to move on. Brian is a dream of and man. Ben was just crazy and the stalker from hell. Enjoyed this story now I'm wishing for more.

The synopsis of this story drew me in, and the premise was very good. The story itself, however, fell flat, and I made myself finish the book in hopes that it would get better. "Would Smell As Sweet" should have been a lot sweeter instead of mediocre.

Sweet

Ben was never found after being shot three times. Shouldn't Shay and Brian be worried or nothing can take their happiness away.

This review is based on an advance beta-read copy. I enjoyed this book and I felt the story was interesting. Brian and his childlike behavior at times was humorous but also a bit annoying, and I found myself laughing out loud at his pranks though. Shayna was a strong enough woman that she realized that she needed a change by getting away from an abusive boyfriend and she did it. Loved the camaraderie between Shayna and her new found friends in Texas, her mother and step-father and step-sister. Although a pest at first, Brian grew on me and I actually ended up liking him more and more as the story went. Vance. What a crazy, nut-bag jerk this guy was! All-in-all it was a nice story with a nice little twist at the end. I am looking forward to further books by Janae Keyes!
