When he is hit in the head with a soccer ball, Duncan, who is completely convinced of his own coolness, develops the ability to see a wicked--and stinky--ghost. Getting rid of the ghost proves to require the help of Greg, a boy Duncan and his cool friend Markie have labeled a nerd. Vocabulary, sentence structure, and plot are all kept deliberately simple. A glossary, discussion questions, and writing prompts are included. The black and white illustrations are simple and amateurish; nonetheless, the spooky subject matter and low reading level will appeal to young readers looking for a good scare. They may be disappointed there, however, as the scare factor is low.

another book that we got in for our junior high students with lower reading levels. it was a cute story and very quick. i do like that it has discussion questions in the back to help focus the kids reading.
