A poignant reminder of the importance of a strong and unified Democratic Party, “We still need tax laws that are fair and equitable. We need protection for the consumer. We need national health insurance. We need a first-rate education for every American, regardless of his financial condition. We need to preserve our environment and we need safe streets and the sanctity of our homes.” O’Brian calls this the unfinished agenda from the 60s that “we must face up to in what remains of the 70s.” 50 years later, it is still unfinished.
