His name is Dino. He’s nothing but a liar and a mystery to all who think they know him. With so many identities, he barely knows who he really is anymore. On the surface he's just another muscled thug breaking kneecaps and extorting money from local business owners. He can’t tell anyone about his real agenda, and even if he could, would anyone believe him?
Jeanette has finally stopped running. She knows better than to think she's safe, but at least she’s found a place to call home. A place where she won’t have to start over with a new name and a new past – again. However, she’s not the only one with secrets. She knows there is more to Dino than meets the eye. She can sense he’s got plenty to hide, but she doesn’t have the right to ask him to open up and let her in. After all, she’s nothing but a liar herself.
Soon enough their twisted histories will collide, and Dino and Jeanette will have to sort out the truth from the lies. The problem is, neither of them want to come clean.
*This is Book Two in the Glass City Hearts Series. Suspenseful and steamy, it includes adult content and language. But you already knew that, didn't you?*
Desiree is a snarky romance author from Northwest Ohio with a completely healthy addiction to anime and snacks. She also writes paranormal romance under the pen name D. Gemini.
Returning to visit some familiar faces. Gabe and angel averted their crisis with Chaz Malone, aided by the secretive Dino and trusty PA Jeanette.
Dino continues to ‘work’ for Malone, the ex fbi undercover agent is doing what he does best, pretending... to be someone he isn’t, to be a thug for hire... to not let it show how much he cares for jeanette. Jeanette has her own secrets, a traumatic past and a face that sends pure terror through her system when she allows herself to look back. Changes were made and a will was strengthened but when Dino and Jeanette’s seperate paths become one... it will be time for the secrets to end.
Dino was such a fantastic and mysterious charachter in the first book, I’m so glad we got to see and understand his situation. To crack his surface and see benethe the different masks he had developed both as protection and for his job, his sense of humour and charm was fantastically written.
There was a scene in this book that was so raw and emotion filled that I actually felt sucker punched in the solar plexus by the emotion it raised in me. It was raw, powerful and gave good UGLY CRY vibes..I could literally see it in my minds eye as I was reading... I’m not going to go into details because #NoSpoilers! That scene will stay with me for a long time. Desiree lafawn is gifted with writing original and creative books, whilst becoming an author to watch because HAWT damm those emotions are not so effortlessly or creatively conveyed by many authors!
My only grumble... I would have love love loved and epilogue!! Because I just didn’t want it to end!
Dino is the second book in the Glass City Hearts Series by Desiree Lafawn. I really enjoyed reading the first book in the series, Gabe- so I knew I had to read this one too. I have mentioned before that I have read all Ms. Lafawn’s books so far and I am really impressed at how easily she can slip from one genre to another. From Paranormal romance to romantic comedy, she can do it all, producing excellent stories that keep you hooked right till the end. I must admit that I wasn’t really sure that I would like this book because even though Dino intrigued me in the first book, I didn’t particularly like him, or Jeanette for that matter. But I had to see what Ms. Lafawn would do with the story, and I am really glad that I did, because she won me over- and by the end of the book I loved everything about Dino and Jeanette, and their story. This book could be read as a standalone, but as the series has recurring characters, I highly recommend reading book one before starting on this one- just to get a better perspective of the characters- not to mention that it’s a brilliant book in its own right. This book seemed to be a little more emotional and suspenseful than the first one, to me. With secrets on both sides, Dino and Jeanette have their work cut out for them. There is danger, twists and surprising developments that had me flying over the words, reading as fast as I could, to find out what was going on. The story has a great pace and a smooth flow. It is told from alternating POV’s- Jeanette and Dino’s,-so we get a really great balance of perspectives, thoughts and feelings. The story is really well written, and so easy to read as Ms. Lafawn has a sexy, engaging and descriptive style to her writing that just draws you in and leaves you wanting to dive into her next book ASAP. So, bring on “Jesse”: Glass City Hearts Book #3!!
Dino is the second book in Desiree Lafawn’s Glass City Hearts series. I started with book three of the series and simply had to go and also read books one and two! Desiree’s writing makes the stories so real that you feel so close to the characters and you simply want more … more glimpses into their lives, more of the people in their lives … simply more! Dino is the story of Dino, a man of so many identities that at times he himself no longer knows who he truly is, and of Jeanette, a broken woman who has finally stopped running … having found a place (and people) to call home … These two have SOOOOO many secrets between them that at times it is hard to breathe … my goodness, this story … the journey Jeanette has been on … the suffering … and Dino … the loyalty … the family … Jeanette … and using the alternating points of views, she makes us part of the story … The writer takes us to the pits of despair and to the heights of hope … she makes us cry and she makes us hope and she leaves us breathless and wishing for more … there is never enough …
This is Book 2 in the Glass City Hearts series. This was so good! I really enjoyed this book because there was something exciting happening from the very first chapter. Dino appeared in book 1 and I wasn’t sure how to react to him. He helped where he could, but it was like he wasn’t really wanting to help. He used to be FBI and now he works for a mob boss. Jeanette works for Gabe and you are introduced to her in Book 1’s story. Now she’s the one in trouble and Dino has to help her. Boy, was that an interesting encounter. I thought book 1 was exciting but I think this one has it beat. The chemistry is there between the two, but they are both totally against doing anything with it. I have to say that I really ended up loving Dino more than I did Gabe. Now I’m off to read book 3.
Dino (Glass City Hearts Book Two) by Desiree Lafawn was an epic thrill ride that had my hooked form start to finish!
I am loving this series, though this book can be read as a stand alone, I high;y suggest going back and reading the first book. As the now supporting characters, were the stars in the last, and there will be something you won't quite get, or understand. That and, the first book is freaking amazing!
Okay, lets start with something simple... everything about this book/series has captured me, body and soul. I will be honest, I didn't really like Dino in the first book, or Jeanette, but my god by the end of this book, they are now my people.
Picking up pretty close to were the first book leaves off, we are once again tossed back into Glass City and it's many mysteries, and on goings. (Which is a lot for this small place). The focus is now on Dino, though Gabe and Angel are still relevant to the plot and for moving the story forward, it just this time we are looking in from the outside. The POV switches are between Dino and Jeanette, and as I said, two supporting characters from the first book that I wasn't too keen on. But still very curious about.
I got to see a whole new side of Jeanette, and holy hell I was not excepting the story she was hiding. This was crazy. Form the start as Jeanette slowly opens up to the readers, the tone shifts, and every word there after is laced with danger. Jeanette, though once broken down, is strong, smart and a fighter. She made this story shine and I'm glade that I got to know more about these important side characters from the first book.
Dino, again another twist I wasn't expecting. I had a feeling he wasn't all that bad, but again getting his full background and getting in his head, drastically changed my mind about him. I can't tell you too much because it will ruing the story, just know that, sometimes the bad are actually good, and the good can sometimes be demons.
There is so much I want to gush about this book, but if I go to far down the rabbit hole I'm going to end up spoiling something for you. So please take my super high recommendation that you are going to fall head over heals for this unique, out of the box, witty/dangerous romance, that will not only take a small part of you soul, but leave a forever lasting impression on your reading heart.
These books!! This author!! I jumped on this one as fast as I could as soon as I saw it was available. I don't know what it is about this author's writing style and the words she uses to convey her stories but they are exactly the reason I love to read. This is my 3rd book by this author with Permanence of Pain and Gabe being the first two and I loved this one just as much although I still have a soft spot for Gabe, I think it's because while reading that one is when I became a forever fan.
This one was a bit more serious and dealt with a much harder storyline that was written beautifully, the characters carried over from Gabe and I love it when that happens, right down to our friendly seniors who I absolutely adore, reading their parts in these stories makes me smile and lol at times.
Dino was an awesome main character and handled that role perfectly and I loved Gabe and Angel still being right there through most of the story. I'm not going to get into any of the storyline but I will say that it does deal with a tough topic that could possibly trigger pain for some. Jeanette who we met in Gabe was finally able to tell her story and it was not a pretty one, I knew there was more to her than the hard as nails character she portrayed. The interaction between her and Dino was great to read and I just loved this story. I now sit back and wait for the next and hope that there is more to come for all of them even past Jesse’s story.
I highly recommend you start with Permanence of Pain, even though it isn't officially part of this series it still plays a part and then read them in order..They are fantastic books and this author is in a class of her own.
Dino by Desiree LaFawn is the second installment of her Glass City Hearts Series and I just couldn’t get enough of this one! This series has got it all, there is mystery, suspense, romance, and enough heat to light your reader on fire. Following the story of Dino and Jeanette, both of these two have secrets that they would kill to keep, but there is something about each of them that draws them together. The situations that could unfold should their secrets get out could be the end of everything that they knew, but opening up someone else is a very tempting fate. Can these two find a way to build a level of trust between them in order to survive? The attraction between Dino and Jeanette could be felt by everyone around them and yet they both tried to fight it off. It seemed the more that they fought it the hotter it made things when they got together. Watching these two fall for each other was both frustrating and infatuating all at the same time. It seemed like they fought the heat for so long that I almost gave up on them but then when they got together they exploded. Also getting to see the characters from book one again was great, seeing how their stories progressed really helped to tie these two stories together for the series. LaFawn is an old favorite of mine, so when I saw this book online I knew I had to read it. Her characters are relatable, the story line draws you in and the suspense and heat keep you coming back for more. If you are looking for a great series with men who will stoke your fires while keeping you on the edge of your seat with suspense than this is the series for you.
Dino (Glass City Hearts Book 2) By: Desiree Lafawn 5 out of 5 stars
The story Dino (Glass City Hearts Book 2) by Desiree Lafawn is a book that I loved reading. It has mystery, suspense and will have you wondering what is going to happen next. The two main characters of Dino and Jeanette both have secrets that they guard. There is danger involved if those secrets are revealed. Then situations and circumstances happen that could lead to severe consequences. Can these two find a way to trust each other in order to survive? I enjoyed reading about Dino and Jeanette. While they try to ignore it whenever they are in a room together the tension rises between them. There is an attraction/chemistry between them. Dino is a man of mystery. No one seems to know the real him and the reasons behind what his current situation is all about. Jeanette is a woman that likes to stay in the background. She does her best not to be noticed. Trusting doesn’t come easily for her. Complicated is one of the best ways to describe what is happening between them. This story also has other wonderful characters that I enjoyed reading about. Some of the interactions that occur are quite humorous and had me laughing. This is the second book I have read by the author. I found it to have a wonderful storyline and amazing characters that I will not soon forget. I wanted everything to work out for them in the end. I find myself looking forward to going back and reading the first book as well as hoping that more stories are to come in this series.
Dino (Glass City Hearts Book 2) By Desiree Lafawn 5 stars
After loving the first book in this series I was really looking forward to finding out more about Dino! Of course I was also a little excited to see Gabe again!! And as much as I didn’t want to I think I love this book a little bit more than the first one! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with Dino, he was in the background in the first story but I absolutely loved him! There was just so much to love with this book and I really don’t want to accidently let out anything that spoils it for people who haven’t read it. I laughed, I cried and I fell in love all in one book! It is one of those books that you cannot put down once you have started. I truly adore this authors writing, she has me so engaged as a reader and I am constantly trying to guess what is going to happen. Her characters are well thought out, they develop well over the story and they are relatable. I think this series is going to be fantastic and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next story. I would also recommend that this series is read in order, I found many questions I had from book 1 were answered in this book even though the main characters were different!
Dino by Desiree Lafawn is the second book in the Glass City Hearts series. This book can be read as a standalone but trust me when I say you will want to read them all! Dino is just a thug – or so he lets everyone think. With a secret that he keeps to himself – one he doesn’t think people would believe even if he told them – Dino continues on with the charade. Even he is starting to question he who really is. Jeanette has her own fair share of secrets. And when she crosses paths with Dino she knows not to push too hard for his – because at the end of the day she doesn’t want to share her own secrets either. But secrets have a way of catching up to you and spilling out. And what will happen when it comes time for Dino and Jeanette to share theirs? At the end of the day, they were keeping the secrets for a reason. I really enjoyed this book, just like I did the first. This authors writing style knows how to grab your attention and keep you reading. I thought the story, and the characters, were both well developed and interesting. I wanted to find out more about them, to delve a little deeper into their histories. I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen when everything came to a head. Overall a very good book, and clearly what is going to be a very good series.
Dino Glass City Hearts Book 2 By Desiree Lafawn ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ .WOW! Just WOW! A romance filled with suspense. This is a full length novel.
Jeanette is a survivor. She is strong and has run from a life of a horrible marriage. Six years has gone by and everything is going great. She has a good paying job, a great boss and a new life. But she knows her life is about to change. So let's throw in the gorgeous handsome Dino. Will he be her weakness?
Dino the liar, but only as his job requires. He has lied so much, he has no idea who he really is. Deep undercover he must find out what the crime boss is really after. Then there is the evil of the people he is required to work with. So let's throw in the beautiful Jeanette, as things are about to heat up.
I have waited and waited for this amazing story! Written by the amazing Desiree Lafawn. I can't believe she has done it again. This book will not disappoint. High action, steamy and loaded with great characters. Everything you need for a night of reading. Now the waiting begins as I wait for the next book. Well done Desiree Lafawn! Not for those under 18 due to violence and sexual content.
Desiree Lafawn wrote another great piece with Glass City Hearts Book 2: Dino. Book one, Gabe, was all about Gabe but you were also introduced to Dino, and acquaintance and Jeanette, Gabe’s “assistant”. Jeanette is so much more than an assistant however she can pretty much handle anything and everything Gabe or Dino throw at her and she’s very good at what she does. Dino is a mystery to everyone, even Jeanette and Gabe. In Book two you learn all about Dino and Jeanette, if you read book one you learned just enough to keep you wanting more and wondering if there is something going on between Jeanette and Dino. You learn so much about both characters and everything they have gone through and what they are constantly hiding. All the secrets get brought out in this great story. You watch them grow as individuals and learn to fully trust and support one another in an emotional way, not just the work way. You also get introduced to some new characters like book three in the Glass City Hearts Series: Jesse.
Dino (Glass City Hearts Book 2) by Desiree Lafawn is an incredible second book in an awesome series. You could probably read these books as standalone's but you will definitely know there's a story you're missing out on. Dino is a man of mystery and secrets he can't let anyone know but there's one person who might make him lower those fences he's had up for years. Jeanette has her own secrets she's too afraid to share. On the run from her past has she finally found her place? Jeanette's character is so inspiring and I just wanted to say she was my friend. Each chapter is told in each main characters point of view which is my favorite because you get a fuller picture. The storyline was well written and paced nicely never feeling slow or too fast. I needed a book to sink into and I definitely wasn't disappointed, hooked from page one and couldn't put it done until it was done. I'm giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone who loves their romance stories with some suspense.
DINO (GLASS CITY HEARTS BOOK TWO) written by: Desiree Lafawn 5+++ Stars
“I have secrets of my own-I’m not inviting anyone to peek any more closely at me than they need to.”
I have been wanting to read this book ever since I finished reading Gabe. Jesse is book three in the Glass City Hearts Book and it’s on my TBR! My heart is still pounding from Dino’s story and I can’t wait to dive into Jesse’s.
“I decided long ago that no man would ever hurt me again. Compared to what I had been through in what seemed like a past life, his words were like raindrops on my windshield.”
This book had me falling deeper in love with characters from book one. I love when past characters intertwine and continue throughout the series. This book had my heart racing, tears streaming, kept me at the edge of my seat, laughing at the banter, praying for closure, hopeful for discovery and crossing my fingers for the future.
“I could only tell him lies, and for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to say them. I would rather say nothing at all.”
I loved this book so, so much! Desiree Lafawn has really outdone herself with this book. Jeanette Clary works for Gabe Anderson and has always had sassy comments to Dino, an associate of Gabe’s. When Dino asks Jeanette to accompany him to her a charity auction, well the way he asks hits her the wrong way. Just wait until he picks her up and sees her! Everyone, you need to read this book! It is Desiree’s best book yet! We don’t know Jeanette’s and Dino’s secrets, but we will find out! You are going to absolutely love how strong she is, when you find out what she has endured. You will be surprised about Dino too! I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say this book will bring tears to your eyes, it will make you laugh out loud, and it will bring a smile to your face. Grab your copy and get ready to have a new book boyfriend! I love Dino and I can’t wait to see what we get next from Desiree Lafawn.
Dino is the second novel in the Glass City Hearts Series by Desiree Lefawn. It is written to a point where it can be read as a standalone novel but I would recommend that you go back and read the first book in the series for a bit more of a background history on some key points in this novel.
In this book we get to know all about Dino, and I wasn’t sure if I really would want a whole book on just the Dino that was in that one. This time around though I really did grow to love his character. He and Jeanette are the main point of views in this installment so we grow to love these two for many reasons we never were aware of in book one, Gabe. There is a lot going on in Glass City and things haven’t slowed down that much from book one. There is still plenty of mystery and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat and I am pretty sure as I was, really waiting for book three to release!
This Glass City Hearts series is really rolling now and I have to admit Dino is my favorite so far! Dino (Glass City Hearts Book Two) sucks the reader back into the Glass City universe Lafawn has masterfully created, answers a few questions presented in Gable (Book 1), and adds a whole lot more drama, sexual tension and surprise romance. Dino and Jeanette both have more than their fair share of secrets to hide, and it's gripping to see them all come tumbling down around them. I'm a sucker for a "good" bad boy (especially a jealous one) and Dino absolutely has that going for him (in spades).
I enjoy books where the Author clearly has a 'bigger plan'. Curious foreshadowing, familiar locations and faces make the reader feel like they truly know the Glass City and the people who live there. I am very exciting for the next book and can't wait to add Dino to my collection of Lafawn books!!
Dino (Glass City Hearts Book 2) by Desiree Lafawn is a story I have been waiting for. We finally get to read see what Dino’s story and what a complicated story it is. We also get re-acquainted with Gabe and Angel who I loved from the first book. I loved the first book but I looooooooooove this story. This is one story that once you start you can’t put it down. Desiree’s writing engages you and keeps you guessing as to what is around the corner and her characters are always well thought out and well developed. I laughed and cried and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next story. I loved the story of Dino and Jeanette and the bonds between the characters. I was happy to see the girls, Jolene and Gerta back to their old tricks.
This book has all you need for a great read, romance and suspense, mystery and love, fear and trust.
Gabe takes a lot to beat because I mean, come on… Gabe. But Dino was so much more complex than I thought he would be. I read this series some time ago, but realized I forgot to leave a review, so here goes. While there were a few “housekeeping” edits that I would like to see corrected, all in all, this was a fantastic story. The author has a way with words that is enthralling and makes you feel like you really know the characters. Dino may have tried to come off as a cold a-hole, but inside he really just wanted to be loved and help his family. And poor Jeanette… the things she endured. Actually, no… not poor Jeanette, because Jeanette was a bad-A chick. There couldn’t have been a better man for her than Dino. All in all, this was a great addition to the series!
Well, well, well... Dino's story is a little bit different than I thought it would be. FANTASTIC!! I knew there was something about him that I liked when he was introduced in Gabe's story. I was NOT disappointed. (I don't know who is on the cover of the book, but he's how I pictured Dino to be.)
This story is a bit of a suspense, a bit of mafia, a bit of under cover, and a whole lot of character development. From beginning to end, this story moves seamlessly and at a very good pace.
It was fun to revisit characters we meet in Book 1 and of course learn more about Dino and Jeannette.
I recommend this series and although you can read this as a stand-alone, I think it would be better to read in order.
Dino is book two in the Glass City Hearts series by Desiree Lafawn. The characters in this tale appealed to me on a whole different level than the characters in book one. I love a sassy, outspoken character, whether it be the leading man or the woman, and I got so much more from Dino and Jeanette.
Dino and Jeanette provided endless entertainment and hair raising situations. Danger lurks in the dark, and attraction electrifies the air. Their passion sizzled and when they clashed, sparks flew. Anticipation was high and uncertainty reigned. It was an edgy story that was gripping intensity at its finest. It is always an incredible rush to read work from Desiree Lafawn, and I am always left wanting more. 5 stars.
I really liked this book because I got to learn the story behind Jeannette. My god, she’s been through hell. The sexual tension between her and Dino finally blew up. It was about time! The chemistry between them is crazy. I got to see a few more layers of Dino. He really is a good guy. Underneath that tough exterior is a heart of gold.
Although this is book two of the Glass City series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Familiar faces make a return, like the gorgeous Gabe and energetic Angel. Chaz Malone reappears as well in this story and really throws a curveball towards the end. I was not expecting it. There is drama, action and crazy people. A book written to keep you interested from beginning to end. Good job!
STOP. IT. That was not enough! I need SO much more!!! Dino, Glass City Hearts book two by Desiree Lafawn was honestly fantastic, I had a hard time putting it down! Liars are not people you’d want to be around. But what if you didn’t know they were lying? Or what if you did but their life was on the line? So many secrets and they are so juicy that you just have to know what’s behind them. Jeanette is one of the strongest characters I’ve read about. She is a heroine in her own sense and I loved watching her story play out. Even if it was emotional. Dino is the bad boy thug but he has a softer side, his true self. You have to read this book.
Also as a side note, I did not read book one (I will now!), however I do not think that it had any impact on my understanding of it.
Dino, Glass City Hearts Book Two, by Desiree Lafawn is a well written romantic suspense. It features secondary characters that were introduced in the first book, Gabe. Jeanette and Dino were dynamic to read. Their characters are strong, have distinct choices and a code they move to live by. I enjoyed reading more about these characters after their introduction in the first book of the series. The chemistry sizzles straight off the pages and the plot/story line is perfectly aligned with these characters, their choices and how the author has created them. This is truly a great series with amazing characters.
Dino is the second book in the Glass City Hearts Series by Desiree Lafawn. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend you start with the first book. They are both Five Stars and well worth your time. This book is filled with mystery and suspense that will you enthralled from beginning to end. Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because both Dino and Jeanette kind of put me off in the first book, but they are wonderfully entertaining once the whole story is revealed. I have to say, this is my new favorite book from Ms. Lafawn, and I look forward to reading many more.
Dino (Glass City Hearts Book 2) by Desiree LaFawn 5 stars
Oh my goodness im so happy to have read this book! I wanted to know more about Jeanette and Dino too, from book 1 and we finally get their story, together! So much going on, Dino knows one thing for certain and that's he has to stick to Chaz Malone like glue after he takes interest in a certain restaurant. As the story unfolds and we learn of both Dino' s and Jeanette's pasts, we see sparks fly and protective streaks a mile wide. Whwn the action happens it sure caught me by surprise! Cant wait to read the next one!
Dino by Desiree Lafawn is book two in the Glass City Hearts series. I definitely recommend reading book one. Not only because Desiree Lafawn is a great author but book one is also awesome. And it does start the series. I was glad to have a book with Jeanette. Gosh that woman has been through so much. I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was hard to put down. I love Desiree’s writing style and can easily say she’s one of my favorites. She could probably write a book about turds and rainbows and it would be awesome. Anyway definitely recommend 4 star rating.
This is the second book of the glass city hearts series and it is a standalone but i highly recommend reading the other book first. Wow i loved this novel that i read it all in one sitting i just couldn't set it down, my eyes were glued to the pages and i just wanted to know what was going to happen next, the storyline was so captivating. I have read others from this author so i knew i wouldn't be disappointed in this novel and i most certainly wasn't interesting capitivating storyline, amazing characters and leaves you wanting more!
I loved Dino's and Jeanette's Story. It was fast paced and answered some questions from book 1, Gabe, the previous book in the series. There was romance, drama, revenge, hot romance and humor. I really enjoy how her descriptions in the stories easily create an image in your mind. Sort of like a movie playing out while you are reading. I have read several of Author LaFawn's books and this series is by far my favorite to date.
