I started reading this book thinking it was written by Oliver Strange who wrote the originals. I was disappointed by the storytelling and the behaviour of Sudden I can understand the change in his horse's name but he doesn't seem to be the hero I remember from my boyhood. I will try to find Oliver Strange on Kindle and see if my memories are accurate.

"Sudden" is drifting from town to town under an assumed(?) name, after being framed for a crime he didn't commit.

He finds himself in a town under the thumb of the founding family. After stepping in to help a young man who had the guts to stand up to one of them, he starts a campaign against them and their hired gunslingers.

I enjoyed this more on a re-read, there's plenty going on and the characters all have their own approach and reasons for their actions.
