“My name is Delaney Masterson. I graduated from New England College, right here in Boston. And I’ve never had an org*sm.” When I admit this awful truth about myself to my co-workers, the worst possible thing happens. It gets back to my boss -- Nixon Blake, the six feet tall, ripped, chiseled founder of the internet’s biggest search engine. He’s a man with a jaw that could cut glass, the perfect amount of stubble, and ice blue eyes that could cause your blood to freeze in your veins. And then there’s his dark, wavy hair that looks like it would be heaven to run your fingers through. He’s also a tech billionaire. When I go to apologize, Nixon Blake isn’t having any of it. I think he’s for sure going to fire me, but then he does something completely unexpected. He rises from his chair and comes toward me. His feet fall heavy on the floor, and I’m surprised the room doesn’t shake with the force of his gait. Everything about him says he knows how big and powerful he is. He stops right in front of me, so close that I have to look up to keep eye contact. “You want to know something about me that would surprise you?” His voice is low, forcing me to be completely still. I can barely breathe, and so instead of a response, I just nod. There’s the tiniest spark of fire behind his icy eyes. “I’ve spent nearly every second since your little declaration,” he says, his tongue rolling over the word, “thinking about all the different ways I could make you come.” I am in big, big trouble…
In order to save Delaney's career Nixon decided to make a statement that he harassed her by using his authority, which was all a lie to protect her. Weeks later Delaney has decided to go back to school she spoke to her Advisor and finds out that to pull their scholarship and internship due to the behavior the school was appalled with Nixon Blake behavior. At that point Delaney knew she could not allow fellow students to miss opportunity nor the college, even the intern program awarded hard working students with a great job. Delaney made a statement saying that the affair was mutual that Nixon Blake did nothing wrong it was all consensual.
Weeks later being the bridesmaid at her sister wedding, Delaney was giving her speech and went weak knee as she looked into the crowd and guest who was standing there waiting for her?
Gah! Insert finger to back of throat and spew up this morning's breakfast.
I wish I had stopped at the end of book two, or better yet, not started this quick little series at all.
The lack of chemistry and connection between this couple continues, there is ZERO development at all. But low and behold, out of the blue, That's right. After all the lack of connection and emotion, all of a sudden we're supposed to buy into this 'sweeping in at the last moment to declare his undying love' garbage fest.
Normally, the moment the H and h come back together after being apart is something you look forward to. This made me dnf the rest of the book. Since it's only 4 chapters plus an epi, I dnf'd it half way. If my eyes had rolled any harder I would have had to go the emergency room to have them stitched back in.
I have no idea how we go from an emotionless man to the exact opposite with ZERO story. It's like 'poof' he's a changed man. This to me is just plain bad and lazy writing. The author forgot to add in the actual story part!
This book/series was one of the best reads from the author. Enjoyed so many things written in this book. Answers to questions and reasons answered. Surprised by the Epilogue and events but LOVED IT!! The only thing I would have liked was knowing what happened to Amber and Jenna. Only negative and a pattern from this author is she does not like to write more than 50-70 pages per book. If only she would put more writing into a book to compensate for the cost of the book would be great.
Following the scandal Nixon takes a hiatus from Scour. Delaney on the other hand is licking her wounds but comes out guns blazing to defend Nixon and their relationship- the truth must prevail.
When they reunite its everything I wanted for them, and it brings closure to Nixon and his past.

This was well worth my time, I enjoyed this even though I normally don’t like to delve into novellas.
Finally we get to know how the story ends at last. The end felt a little rushed, I wanted to see more of what happened after the news broke. Nixon finally got over his public awkwardness and told Delaney how he really feels about her! I really felt for him when he told Delaney the reason behind his empty house and public dislike.
I couldn't stop reading. Laughed, cried and hurt for both of them. Thank you for writing and sharing a story that hits close to home. Abuse isn't just violence, neglect and rejection stick with you forever. Love of great partner can always help you heal and become stronger.
Ahhh this was such a lovely book to read as the conclusion to the series, and I have to admit I am really sad not to be reading anymore from the author 😭 if her books are ever completely in KU (not just the first one of a series) or even a whole book instead of broken down into short ones so they are just one price I would happily read her whole library!
Couldn't read these four books quickly enough. Such a steamy series with a great story and a lovely HEA. Although the books are short they are not overpriced, I really enjoyed all four books and will be reading more from this author.
You need a betterDr proofreader. There are a lot of grammatically incorrect sentences. I liked the characters, though I thought the book dragged at times
