A charming tale that is a lovely light read with an engaging storyline.
When Kate finds herself pregnant and with an unreliable boyfriend she breaks the news to her family.
Her mother suggests she goes to stay with eccentric aunt Beth deep in he countryside to gain some space and perspective but what turned out to be a bolt hole in a time of trouble proves to be a new start for Kate and her baby.
Wonderfully written and a novel I could not put down until the last page.
A thoroughly enjoyable read.

I first read this book in high school in the late 1980's, and never forgot it. I tracked it down online and obtained my own copy all these years later and it was just as good as I remembered.
