I usually LOVE Ellie Danes books, but this one was written with an author and it reads like maybe they did ALL the writing. The “voice” of the characters came off very stilted and formal. It was very hard to believe the words were actually coming from the characters themselves making it very hard to believe and engage in the story. Then the story itself was crazy. Lora, well I am not sure what to think of Lora. She did not come across as the “strong, smart, and caring” character that she was stated to be, time and time again. She came across as weak, naive, and overly trusting. Evan was also stated, multiple times to be a strong personality but he was also weak and short sided. Then we are supposed to believe the JB/Jackson, on his own, is no longer an abusive, spoiled, alcoholic and in just a few short weeks completely turns his life around and walks the straight and narrow and becomes a responsible, successful business owner and operator. Then there is Anne. She is a cold, judging b***h, trying to make everyone feel beneath herself. Suddenly she transforms into this loving caring person that is just trying to help her son JB get over the tragedy of his early years of abuse by his father and really loves everyone. It was all just so surreal and not just fantasy but totally unbelievable. I just can’t in good conscience recommend this horrible read to anyone. I really hope that Ellie Danes reads and fixes her collaborations in the future, because this one will only server to bring her name down and impact the popularity of her own work.

A good read about a restauranteur and a wine manager. Lora and Evan have hot chemistry together but the storyline just didn't grab me. This does have an HEA ending.

I’m surprised and disappointed by this book. It was predictable, the language was stilted, the characters were not believable and changed their whole character within a matter of pages.

The overall storyline was a decent idea, but the execution of it fell short. The characters monologued in formal language too often and came across as shallow and unbelievable. So much more could have been done with this. Shame.

Walking Away Can Lead You to the Right Place

Elle Danes has become an author on my must read list of favorites. The characters are strong and memorable and are not perfect people but struggling through issues that make survivors. In this story Lora has left her family, friends and hometown to escape an abusive ex and start a new life in a new town. Evan is a successful businessman with several restaurants and a bar that his step brother manages. Evan is looking for a better line of wine for his restaurants and his appointment at a local winery has to be changed because his step brother JB is in trouble... again. When Lora agrees to change her plans for a possible new client at the winery she is not prepared for the young and hot as hell man in the parking lot or the thoughts of steamy nights that sear her mind. Evan and Lora have a connection but after a very satisfying night and no word Lora starts to have doubts. Neither Lora or Evan are looking for a relationship after their failed relationships but sometimes date has other ideas. When Lora is invited to meet Evans family she it's nervous but nothing prepared her for the shock of the past knocking on the door. When the twist of family dynamics comes to light who will walk away and who will fight for the love that is blooming??? This great story is filled with hope, trust, love, betrayal, jealousy and forgiveness. The characters are real, the feelings are real and the plot will have you turning the pages. I highly recommend this book for a one click purchase. His/her POV, no cheating, no cliffhanger, a HEA, touches on abuse but not descriptive.

Kissing💋 The Frog Prince🐺🍆🌋

Lora💃💋 has to get out of town to get away from an abusive boyfriend who has threatened her. She runs about a hundred miles away to Sala Valley, a 🍷winery area. She gets a great job as a 🍷wine salesman, because she knows her stuff. But she's always scared her ex, Jackson👹, will find her. He's an out of control abusive alcoholic.

Evan🐺🍆🌋🍓 is a young, gorgeously handsome, highly motivated restaurateur, who comes into the winery🍷 where Lora💃🍷 is working, to taste the wines🍷 one evening. He is so impressed with Lora's knowledge about wines🍷, her looks, and her personality, he asks her on a date. He also chooses their wines🍷 for all his restaurants.
They click, and the animal attraction🐺🍆🌋💋 is almost instant!

This is a book with most of the plot tension based on the lack of knowledge the three characters have of each other.
It's interesting but unbelievable.

Meanwhile, Evan🐺🍆🌋 can't be everywhere, and his half brother Jackson👹, is getting into trouble time after time running the 🍸 that Evan🐺🍆🌋 and his dad own in his hometown. Jackson👹 is a drunk, he can't tend 🍸bar without drinking his way through the 🌙night. Fights👊💪 happen, the bar is sued. Evan🐺 wants to fire him, but he keeps giving him one more chance because he's family.
Something is terribly wrong with this picture.......

There is a slow motion train wreck🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃 coming, its hurtling down the track and it's going to derail everyone involved...

I have read a few of Ellie Danes book, for that reason alone I gave it a 3.5 star rating. this book had a great storyline but I felt it could have been written so much better. Some of the character's "voices" was just a little stale at times. I did however love the storyline behind this book. in this book we have Evan who is a successful owner of a few restaurants. Lora left all of her life behind to start fresh because of an abusive ex. when they meet the chemistry is off the chains. Neither of them are looking for a relationship because of how the past has affected them both. When Evan invites her to family thing Loa's past knocks on the door and forces feelings and the past to hit her right in the face.
this book was really easy to read, it flowed very well at times and some parts was very stale. it was a little predictable at times but when the twists happened I was on the edge of my seat so excited to read what would happen next. I laughed and i did cry along with yelling at my kindle often.

She ran away from her hometown Wytheville eighty miles away to Sala Valley to get away from her verbally and physically abusive ex Jackson. She accepted a job at Sala Valley Winery. There she met Evan Powers a potential client of the winery. He did give them an exclusive contract for all his restaurants and asked her out for dinner. She said yes. Theirs was immediate chemistry. There were secrets that they did not share with each other at first. Their secrets could bring them together or tear them apart. An excellent read. Very well written and the characters were well described and had distinct personalities. I highly recommend this book.

Evan owns restaurants and needs to upgrade his supply of wine. So when he meets with Lora to discuss wine in his restaurants, there is instant chemistry that they can't deny. But will this just be a fling? Can they have it all?

An entertaining read about two people that have been unsuccessful at love. Evan has had too many romances fail and is wary of risking his heart again. Lora had to move away to get away from her abusive ex and even with some distance she's still scared. When these two meet though their attraction is strong and slowly they open themselves up to the possibility of love. However, shocking surprises are looming on the horizon. Started off well, good strong characters but then it got a bit confusing because suddenly Evan went from this really strong focused man into a follower? The storyline was good but seemed to lose its way at the end? And a bit confused with the new waitress bit because it sounded like it was going to be part of the story but went nowhere? Still a good read, just the last part felt different from the first half.

Both Lori and Evan are suffering from wounded hearts when they meet at the winery where she works. Their attraction is instant and their chemistry is off the charts. Lots of drama and family dynamics at play. The book is written from a dual POV which is great as it lets us know what each of them are thinking. This was a really good story. Lora thinks she's found love with Evan after getting away from her abusive ex, J.B. Unfortunately for Lora there's a twist she doesn't see coming when she meets Evan's family. I was hooked from the beginning of the story and didn't want to put it down. It took me on an emotional rollercoaster.

Everything is going great between this happy couple until Evan takes her home to meet is family. This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and suspense. I wasn’t a huge fan of the characters at times, however the story is entertaining and held my interest throughout. A good read.

A well written story about a woman that is strong enough to leave her abusive boyfriend. She takes the chance and leaves. She meets Evan and is instantly attracted to him. He is all man and kind to her. But both has big secrets that can turn everything into a very bad situation. Can they get through it? Are they strong enough in their attraction?
Amazing chemistry but I would have liked the communication to be a bit more believable.

Ellie Danes is always a favorite for a quick, spicy romance read and this is no exception. I always enjoy her well thought out plots, and this one was especially engaging! I agree with some other reviews that her normal character voices came off a bit flat, but chalk that up to her collaboration on this story. Definitely recommend this read!

Moving On...

Evan and Lora are both concentrating on their work but like how they are together. When she reveals her past to him he feels protective of her. When she realizes she didn't run far enough from her ex will she be able to continue with Evan or will she push him away? What an amazing story of moving on from a tragic experience and living again.

Lots of twists and turns. I really enjoyed this book.

I thought the book was good for the most part.
I liked the relationship that grew from a chance meeting.

Both Lora and Evan had their own drama to work through. Then their drama collides at a family dinner, but ends in a sweet ending.

I would have liked a bit more of an epilogue, but ultimately I am satisfied with this read.
