Foreword by Richard Bewes. This will give you a Brilliant introduction to the Bible! Steve has a fever for the Bible and is desperate to infect you! Let him. Dale Ralph Davis.
An excellent and easy to read overview of the Bible. It helped me to get a connection between the Old Testament and the New Testament, and to see that everything points to Jesus. Great Book, if you always had problems understanding the Old Testament itself, and especially the connection between it and the New Testament.
When I picked this book up, I expected a summary of each individual book of the Bible and, unfortunately for me, that's not what this book is.
After reading this book I googled the word "overview" and realised the problem was me, not Levy. If you are looking for a popular level book that gives brief summaries of the themes of individual books of the Bible, pick this up.
This is why, despite being disappointed about the nature of the book myself, I am still giving it 4 stars. I cannot criticise a history textbook for not having enough science, and I cannot criticise a book about overviews for not including lots of minor details in summaries.
PS: Wanted to add that I especially loved how the author noted obedience is not just a means to a blessing, it is a blessing in itself.
Excellent Bible Overview showing how Jesus is in 'all the Scriptures'.... straightforward, accessible and eminently readable. The Q&A's by Paul Blackham, and the extensive Church History quotes are also really helpful in themselves. Worth giving to longstanding, as well as new, Believers.
Don't let the dreadful cover and endless anecdotes put you off. This is an excellently written book that makes sense of the entire bible. Read this if you find Christianity confusing.
