I loved this vampire book.
When we're first introduced to Gunner the vamp, his in a predicament and there seems no way out. Luckily he has a friend who believes in him
Lee and Imogens characters are quite light to begin with and draw you into their happy friendship.
Imogen is human, who's best mate happens to be a shifter, and his an alpha at that, not your normal alpha type but his fab. Lee thinks of Imogen as his extra sister, they're both about to have their lives take a turn, for the better but not before some angst!
As the story evolves and Imogen and Gunner finally meet, we see the struggle and discomfort of finding your blood mate. There is pleasure in the mating too, and Gunner is well educated in how to please his woman.
I found Gunner to be very pleasant and most definitely vamp book boyfriend material.

Gunner is an awesome read, I loved the storyline.
I like that Gunners not a day walker giving him a vulnerability but in no way does he come across as weak.
The subjufuge, the danger within and the intensity in and out the bedroom flows throughout the book, as does Gunners tenderness towards Imogen and the bond between the characters regardless of species. Acceptance for who or what you are is embraced and there was even a reference to the ‘Hunger’ from another series (if you haven’t read A Wolfs Hunger, you should)
Again, this authors description of the ‘Thirst’ allows you to really see and feel the devastating effects it has on the vampire in question.
This book is a very easy 5 stars for me. A fantastic series.

This is my first book by the author and it won't be my last. I am loving this series so far. The vampire thirst stories are great. This book had me hooked from the start.
I love how you not only get Gunner and Imogen's story but you get some of Lee and Piper's aswell.
Gunner was investigating a possible traitor in the Directive and in the process gets sent to jail as part of a bigger conspiracy. Jana starts to suspect something's wrong and agrees to temporarily release Gunner so he can keep investigating.
The traitor is always one step ahead of them and complicates things when he abducted Imogen which results in Gunner quickly succumbing to the Thirst.
I love how you not only get Gunner and Imogen's story but you get some of Lee and Piper's aswell.

This is a fantabulous ebook and you actually get more than one story. The main story of Gunnar, a Vampire who is a Regulator for the Directive, who is falsely accused of murder and sentenced to 500 yrs. in jail. Due to the efforts of his friend and lawyer, Blaine, (who knew he was innocent) he was released on probation for 1 month to find out who really did it. Gunnar is suddenly hit with a bad case of the Thirst. He finds his Bloodmate, Imogen, who is a human, and she is kidnapped which puts Gunnar on the edge of insanity.
Blaine gets the help of his friend Lee, who is an Alpha Wolf and who left his clan so a civil war wouldn't break out. There was a faction that didn't care for his feminine side (he was brought up by all women). He agrees to help Blaine Suddenly he gets hit with the Hunger and remembers his mother telling him what is was. Luckily he finds his mate Piper, who is a leopard shifter. Gunner was once one of the finest operatives the Directive had. But when he came to close to uncovering the traitors embedded within the Directive itself, he was framed for murder. Now isolated from the other prisoners, ostracised by former friends and allies, he only has himself and his best friend to rely on.
Blaine manages to strike a deal with Jana to get Gunner released to track down the traitors and topple the proposed coup of the Directive hierarchy before it can get off the ground. But a new threat to Gunner's mission is coming his way, one which he did not reckon on...his bloodmate. All of her human but enshrined in the supernatural world care of her best friend.
Lee comes over quite camp to outsiders but the guy is in touch with his feminine side and he is not above using his metrosexual side to win over the ladies! His former pack ousted him as Alpha cos they were browbeaten by a couple of homophobic Neanderthals! Now he has been sucked into Gunner's plans and he might just get a surprise of his own...one which kickstarts a Hunger!
This was a great collision between Vampires Thirst and Werewolfs Hunger worlds, it was like 2 books for 1! I loved the way both couples were wrapped in their own plots but meshed really well into the overarching story. Imogen is sweetness and light and a great counterpoint to Gunner's world-weary former inmate. Imogen may be human but that is no bar to being a bloodmate thankfully and though she doesn't get the insane bloodlust, she does get almighty fine dreams!

Excellent Story
I have falling in love with these Thirst stories and Elaine Barris has not disappointed once again. Not only do you get one love connection you get two. Of course when you start getting into the story you feel like Lee's story seems to overtake Gunner's story, but it all comes together in the end.
I love how all the characters seem to be connected to each other and the storyline continues and they even catch a bad guy in the process. I have to admit I was surprised to see who the bad guy was. That was a shocker. But I love who all the thirst stories seem to connect in some way. Maybe not all of them, but this one does.
I would love to read more of Lee and Gunner's story, maybe Lee needs his own book..lol..

Vampire Gunner has been framed and is currently in prison and sentenced to a 500 year stay. In a miracle he is given bail for 1 month to be able to prove his innocence - however those plans go out of the window when he is stuck by the legendary Thirst. Human Imogen is gentle and yet has an underlying strength of character. She seems to be the perfect companion to Gunner's world of guns and blood. Upon meeting her connection to Gunner seems immediate and promises a great future for them both. However when she is abducted Gunner descends into a state where he seems incapable of controlling himself and his need for blood. Can Gunner rescue Imogen or will be go insane first?
Wow - there is drama, danger, twists and turns in spades. There was action from the start to the finish of this book and it moved at a reasonably fast pace so that nothing was covered to the detriment of anything else. It was well written and very easy to feel and understand. Another great book in the Vampire's Thirst world.

This series just gets better and better.

Thank goodness for Gunner’s attorney, Blaine, for believing he wasn’t guilt of these horrible crimes and did everything in his power to get him set free.
Imogen loved her little mobile dog grooming business and wouldn’t give it up for anything. She was just squeeze in by, but with the help of her friend Lee, She has her own truck and all of her own equipment and is hoping to grow her business into a small franchise. And it looks like, from the help of some of her clients, that may just happened.
Gunner has 30 days to prove his innocence, but what happens when the Hunger strikes? Can Gunner survive The Hunger long enough to prove his innocence? Can Imogen truly love a vampire, even though she is human?

Poor Gunner! Set up, framed and totally not given the chance to prove it wasn't him.
Suddenly someone higher up notices that things are not all as they seem in District 7. Gunner is given a chance to prove it wasn't him and that he was framed...but he is only given a month to do it!
Friends jump to help him, although when Lee is struck by the Thirst it definitely makes for entertaining reading! I love how Lee and Piper's stoey runs along so nicely with Gunner's.
So when Gunner is hit with a craving so bad it kicks his investigation in the gut, he's not prepared for it. Imogen is his calm, until something threatens her and him.

OMG I loved this book and this is the story of Gunner and Immogen and also Lee and Piper. I love this whole vampires thirst series and I was so happy that Elaine Barris had written another one to this series, and if you thought that one was great then your in for a treat with Gunner. I love vampire stories and this one is up there with the best of them, sorry but I’m not giving any spoilers because this book is just too good to give bits and pieces of the story. This is a fantastic read full of action, danger, betrayal, love and passion and it doesn’t go overboard with the sex scenes and I like that in a story, you actually get a story and not just sex scenes. This got my heart racing especially for Gunner he was such a good guy ( vampire ) he had found the perfect blood mate in Immogen. I loved this story and I know you will too that’s why I’m giving this book 5 ⭐️ plus and I highly recommend it.

Okay, first off... WOW... this one packs a wallop starting right up front with the prologue. The Directive has been compromised. There’s corruption in the upper echelon. Someone’s planning a coup, and he’s gained followers by promising a new regime where vampires will not only walk among the humans, but they will be their rulers!
Gunner is a vampire and a regulator with The Directive. His best friend Blaine is a wolf shifter and a lawyer. Together they’re going to gather proof and bring it to Jana Neskova, wolf shifter and second hand to Mago Zara, a very ancient vampire and head of The Directive.
They recruit Blaine’s friend Lee who is an Alpha. Jana has secured Lee a position in the District 7 offices where he can covertly have access to files and information that will help uncover the plot.
Lee started working the keyboard his very first day looking for files and he meets Piper, who is a Leopard shifter .....suddenly The Legendary Hunger hits him. Piper is Lee’s intended....It’s actually very funny how this plays out because when Lee brings her with him and Gunner gets a whiff, he says she’s his bloodmate!
Man, I thought there was gonna be a wolf- vamp rumble for sure, but It turns out that Gunner was picking up the smell of Pipers best friend, Imogen, who is human....
The Thirst is upon Gunner and he’s sucking down those blood bags like crazy trying to tamp it down, keep the agonizing pain at bay until he can have her.... when Imogene meets Gunner, she realizes that he’s the man she’s been seeing in her dreams.
Yes, they are fated bloodmates.
But wait! There’s so much more to come. There’s still a kidnaping and an absolutely Epic, fur flying, turn to dust kinda fight and confrontation still to come. And hell yes, I recommend this to 18 + due to erotic content. Trust me, this seriously delivers the goods!

How do I love this...let me count the ways..
Oh these Vampire's thirst stories are so good! Ms. Barris has done it again with this Vampire and his Thirst. Gunner worked for the Directive and still was sentenced to 500 year's for a crime he didn't commit! Thank goodness he's got great friends and friends of friends! While trying to clear his name he's hit by the Thirst! The extra story of Lee the Alpha was a extra bonus! Definitely a great read!

Lots of intrigue with shifters and vampires. This one had meet rooting for Gunner from the start. He’s one gorgeous and dangerous vampire. I love that the story brings in several characters and we actually get to see the Thirst/Hunger on more than one male. Some fighting, detective work and hot scenes. A definite read for any paranormal romance reader.

I absolutely loved Gunner and Imogen. Imogen is so sweet and just wants someone to love her. Like all us girls do. Gunner just has some terrible luck. I highly recommend this book.

I admit that I didn’t like Remi and questioned whether I would like Gunner. But wahoo! Gunner is amazing. It is full of passion, action, very hot scenes and you get two happy endings. Yes two amazing couples are in this one book. This is the Elaine Barris I fell in love with!

Gunner is a former regulator for The Directive and accused for a crime he did not commit. Upon giving him a chance to prove his innocence, he experiences the Vampire's Thirst with a great hunger he has never felt before. His pain has rendered him uncontrollable as he cannot do anything but to drink himself with a full of blood bags. Imogen owns a pet grooming service and her best friend, Lee is an alpha of his pack. They have a great friendship where Lee supports his best friend and allows her to spend her time at his home. I love the action scenes in the story, it was greatly described and the emotions of the characters can be felt as you read the book. Gunner is a gentleman and I love how he feels so happy upon meeting her. I enjoyed reading the book and I also love the HEA epilogue of Imogen and Gunner's story.

Vampire Insurrection
You get a story and a half with this one! Not only do you get Gunner and Imogen, but also Lee and Piper. Love the inclusion of the Wolf's Hunger in this Vampire's Thirst tale. The characters were compelling and their stories and histories interwoven to make the plot even better. Gunner was investigating a possible traitor in the Directive and in the process gets sent to jail as part of a bigger conspiracy. Jana is beginning to suspect something is wrong also and agrees to temporarily release Gunner so he can keep investigating. Gunner gets help from his lawyer, who is a wolf, and they recruit Lee, another wolf, to go undercover to get some evidence. But the traitor stays one step ahead of them and complicates things when he abducts Imogen, Gunner's Bloodmate, which results in Gunner quickly succumbing to the Thirst. It takes all of them together, plus the Directive's Bloodmate team and even Mango himself to stop the insurrection. This story will draw you in and have you wanting to strangle the bad guys and celebrate with the happy couples after you get through the action and suspense of the story.

I had never read anything by Elaine di not even know who she was . I am so glad to have discovered her books. I'm totally hooked definitely recommend her books.
