Kelsey has always been an avid reader and writer and recently she has decided to share her stories with the world. She has a golden retriever she's madly in love with and a true crime obsession.
Five stars just for mind fuckery alone! First time read by this author, she's someone to pay attention to! Whoa, where to begin with this one, other than dark....suspenseful, sinister? Betrayed reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock and Agatha Christie combined. Where you the viewer or in my case the reader have this invisible X floating over people's heads and you're asking yourself "Are you the one? Did you do it.....nahhhhh.... not you?" While trying to figure out all the puzzle pieces and how they fit on the board, the mounting tension keeps growing.....expanding but patience is a virtue; keep with it, those invisible rubber bands will snap and the grains of sand will come tumbling down.
This one starts with a bang from the get. I don't know how to get everything I felt out... I liked the book...a lot. The storyline and plot were impeccable. I knew who the betrayer was for a while and, for me, it made the story more intense. I felt like I was watching a soap. I was at the edge of my seat each and every time I came back to this book.
The ending was a touch disappointing. Well, not the ending itself but the revelations of the betrayal between friends. It just so high school. The ending itself left me shocked.
I enjoyed this author's writing. I also realized this is a debut novel and I'm pleased to say it's a really good start for this author. She's going places.
I must say I am surprised by this book, but in the best of ways. Yes, normally I do not read books like this, but I must say the writing style and character development is amazing for a debut author. Kelsey had blown me away. If you like “different” books check this out. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. I know I was.
Kennedy, Caroline, Lexi and Sage seem so lucky; living life with their sexy husbands and best friends by their sides. However, as you progress through the book, you can see that perfection isn’t really the case. You always think that you know your best friends and all that they are going through. You get to a point where you don’t think you can learn anything new about them. However, the amount of secrets and surprises between these women? It’s deadly.
From the prologue on, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. You get caught up in the lives of these four women and can’t wait to read the next page, the next chapter. I thought I knew who the mystery woman was but then I kept going back and forth. When she is finally revealed, along with the backstory to what’s truly going on, I was obsessed. Then when I finally got to the ending of this wonderful book, I was stunned. I think my jaw hit the floor just a bit.
The story being told from different points of view, especially the mystery woman’s, is crucial to the book. It gives it such a great look into each individuals’ perception of the situation. It allows readers to relate to the different women; to feel exactly what they are going through. And some of it is deep. I cry easily, I’ll admit, but there were definitely parts in this book where I cried. And got angry. And feelin’ some book husband love. Logan, amirite? :) Definitely some sexy feels thrown in there.
I need more! I hope to be able to read more about these women…and soon! In actuality, I hope to be able to read more of anything from this new author.
Holy mother of suspense! I one clicked this honestly because I loved the title and cover and the blurb was just a bonus. And now? Who cares that its almost 2 am on a work day and I stayed up to finish this book! Because it was worth it! So much suspense!! 4 best friends, all happily married, or so they seem. Only one of those 4 women is a cheater and the one she's cheating with is... one of the other 3 women's husband of course. This story is told in alternating voices of the 4 women with special chapters written in the voice of the "betrayer" and even though my main suspect of who the "betrayer" could be was accurate I did waiver a few times. It keeps you guessing all the way to end. That is what kept me reading to the very last page tonight. I had to know who it really was! Well now I know but the ending was so abrupt I do hope there's plans for a sequel. I need More! Very interesting read!
This debut novel started off with a bang. Betrayed had me hooked from the start and guessing who it was throughout the whole book. Everytime I thought I knew who it was she'd throw in a little something to make me second guess myself.
A mystery filled with secrets, and betrayal that will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the very end. I can't wait to read more from this first-time author.

Betrayed is a mixture of Sex and the City, The Real Housewives franchise, and Pretty Little Liars and I absolutely loved it. So much so I read the forty-eight chapter book in two days. I then was able to read the ARC copy of the second book, Burned, and finished that twenty-four chapter novella in one day!
We follow four girlfriends through their eyes. Each chapter is told by one of the four ladies, including the ‘Betrayer’. We get a glimpse of their friendships, career, and marriages from all perspectives. Cheyenne has created a world of not only doubt, deceit, and suspense, but a world of where relationships between husbands and wives, and friendships are pushed and tested. Where real life problems and raw emotions play a huge part in whether you will survive or not.
Kennedy, Lexi, Sage, and Caroline, along with their husbands are close, some are closer to one another than the others. When a couples trip to Aspen takes place, a game has secrets and insecurities come to the forefront of the many relationships in the group.
Ms. Cheyenne sends her readers down a spiral of events and clues to figure out which one of the girlfriends is out to get another one. And more importantly, why.
The further the girls get tied up into the game being played, the more secrets come out to play. If you pay attention to each chapter and follow the clues, you can figure out who the betrayer is in the group, however, you will be guessing throughout. This story was intriguing and kept my attention. I obviously couldn’t put it down. At all. I live off of crime shows and this is just the book you need if you do too.
**You NEED to read Betrayed first before reading Burned.**
Oh my God! My mind is still blown while writing this review. This book is seriously something else. It's been a while since I've read a book that had me so agitate to find what happens next!! I was even tempted at times to skip to the final chapters; that's how bad I wanted to know who was really behind everything!
This book grabs you from the first page; you seriously can't ignore that prologue!
Four couples: Kennedy and Logan, Caroline and Parker, Sage and Taylor, Lexi and Grayson. Each one has secrets and complicate relationships with everyone else! A friendship that at first looks "perfect" comes tumbling down throughout the book.
We get 5 POVs; one for each girl and one for the Betrayer, who's one of the girls! After each chapter, I thought that I knew who the Betrayer was but then I wasn't so sure! The fact that the Betrayer gets her own POV, made her even more mysterious. The information we get from these chapters just made me suspect everyone!
I still can't fully understand what happened. My feelings are seriously all over the place! I freaking loved this book and I wish I could give more than 5 stars! The author really debuted with a bang!! I can't wait to see what comes next from her!!
This novel was a well thought out plot, with lots of little intricacies that kept me guessing all the way to the end. Every time I thought I knew "whodunnit" I was wrong, or I thought I was wrong...or...yeah, it kept me on my toes all the way through to the end.
While I wanted to hate some of these characters and their actions, it didn't stop me from loving them either. It kept my emotions on a roller coaster, and I loved it.
For a debut novel, I was impressed and I can't wait to see more from this author because I think with time - she's going to be one to watch.
Betrayed is about four friends and their husbands. They all have perfect life's, family and friend and no matter what are always there for each other. But then two of the group cross a line that should never be crossed. Secrets are revealed, friendship and relationships are put to the test. This book was full of suspense and I struggled to put it down. Even though there are quite a few characters it never became confusing and it all flowed so well. It constantly kept you guessing at what would happen next. Looking forward to reading the next book Burned.
I am completely shocked and awed. This story is magnificent! A story of 4 couples turns sour when its realized one of the girl is cheating with the others husband. Sage, Lexi, Caroline, and Kennedy are all trying to figure out who did it. The moment you think you are sure who it is, you end up second guessing yourself. I did not see it coming at all! Kelsey is wickedly talented at tugging your heart strings! By the end you'll be begging for answers. My first who did it book in a long time and my favourite by far! Not my usual genre but I'm so glad I tried it.
What an excellent twist for the reading rut I have been in. So many twists and turns. Really cool plot superb build up and an ending that is just enough to piss you off but be excited for maybe a sequel?......
This book was a guessing game. The ending had me 🤯. Kelsey is definitely one of my new favorite writers. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the characters.
This book opens with a question and kept me guessing the whole way through. The group of friends are so involved in each other's lives it was hard to believe there could be anything that would turn one of them into a betrayer. But you never know what lurks beneath the facade people show the world, and when the truth is finally revealed it all made complete sense. A fabulous page turner. I can't wait for the next book by this author.
