Chinese Zodiac Romance #8

In Wolf's Clothing

Rate this book
Sometimes, the best place for a Sheep to hide is in her wolf’s clothing

Ling Tse, Chosen of the Sheep, has enemies she doesn’t even know exist. That’s the price to pay for hiding from her true identity. But when sinfully hot, bad boy Eight Immortal Cao becomes her new guardian, the lies come crumbling down around her. With nowhere left to hide, the only person she can count on is the one person she’s sworn never to trust.

Eight Immortal Cao Guojiu didn’t ask to become guardian to his enticing new ward. But protecting Ling means he’ll finally earn atonement for his unsavory past. It should be an easy task, except, she’s so damn irresistible. And the one danger he can’t guard her from…is himself.

In Wolf's Clothing features a hot new breed of shifters, set in a post-apocalyptic world where Chosen warriors must battle demonic forces--and the desires of their hearts--to restore the balance of yin and yang before humanity is destroyed forever.

If you love dirty-talking alpha heroes, tough heroines who challenge them, exotic cultures, and unique twists on mythology, don't miss out on this scorching hot series.

I have to say that adored everything about this book!!! Right from the opening scene this tale draws you in hook, line and sinker. I loved how this book started, right from the get go there is so much mystery and secrets and that is definitely something that draws you in even more, making you want to read on or should I say need to read on, its a fantastic way to start a story in my opinion!

The characters… OMG….
Ling…. I loved reading about her character, I related to her in a lot of ways and I think that may be why I took to her as much as I did, with her need to remain on the sidelines, to remain hidden are her struggle to trust others. It is very inspiring to read about how much courage and strength she has, with all the things that she goes through and all the things that she finds out, especially about her heritage, the fact that I am adopted I think this really made me relate to her character and her situation.
Cao…. Right from the first page his enigmatic character makes you want to know more about him, I found it brilliant how he comes across at first in a certain way but as you read on in the book, you see him opening up and not only that, you see him grow and change, to want to be better. He carries so much guilt and remorse in him I think that makes him blind to a lot of things. I love reading how he let's his heart open, you soon realise that he does have a large heart and those that he cares for he will do anything to protect them and that makes him a more lovable character to read about!

I think that this book could be read alone but I think people would be better informed with the characters in the world if they read the previous books. I adored this book, my favourite one yet, I can honestly say they there is nothing that stuck out in my mind that needed changing, its an extremely well written story that has me constantly reading, unable to stop turning pages and I love how you get it from both characters point of views , so you can experience all the things that they are feeling and not just what is being said through conversation. This book is written in such a way that pulls you into the story, so you feel like you are there with all the characters, seeing and feeling everything with the characters.

I absolutely frickin adored everything about this book….

I've been waiting for a new book in the CZR series, and I certainly wasn't disappointed with In Wolfs Clothing! Ling and Cao story was one that filled with twists and turns that I never saw coming.
Ling (Sheep) is such a strong heroine, who has been hidden from everyone including herself of who and what she truly is. Cao one of the immortals is placed in the position of being Ling's charge. The sparks do fly once again as the Matchmaker has her hand in everything! Hot and steamy is a given with these two. The sparks between them visible and made you want them to happen. Each new book in this series makes me fall in love with the new characters that we meet. I am so hoping that Ry, who you meet within Ling and Cao's story will have her own story soon! 5/5 cross-posting to My Reading reality and Amazon

This is another excellent addition to this series. This series is a unique blend of shifter romance, the battle between good and evil, mythology and the Chinese zodiac all set in a post-apocalyptic world. I love the sizzle and sparks that fly between Ling and Cao. These two are very much opposites. Ling's struggle to keep her true self hidden and her lack of trust in others (especially The Immortals), is a serious complication to her mission and her growing attraction to Cao. Cao has his own struggle as he deals with his new position as Ling's Guardian, his attraction to her and trying to atone for things in his past. With tons of action, suspense, drama, secrets, danger, intensity, passion and surprises, you are quickly engaged and stay that way to the end of this book. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Magical, Mystical Story of Dragons, Fate and Romance!!

Wow. This story encompasses many aspects – but it fits so well in the world the author has created with the Zodiac Shifters. Do yourself a favor and read this series in order – not absolutely necessary, but will add to your enjoyment.

You will be treated to the Chosen, Immortals, Guardians, Dragons (and many other shifters). Twists and turns and surprises in heritage. Those dragons have a penchant for dungeons, for being rather wicked and coveting treasure.

In amongst the struggle and intrigue runs a beautiful love story. A totally enjoyable read!!

I loved this adventurous love story between Cao and Ling. The Wolf and the Sheep may be opposites, but things definitely don’t seem that way for these two.
They’re both intelligent, and just when you think the voyage might be over, there’s a curveball! There were twists I didn’t see coming and I love that aspect in a book.
I definitely recommend this book!

Hidden in plain sight

Our heroine has lived her entire life hiding who she is and in this book she finds out she's more than she knows. Our Immortal is destined to be our Heroine's Guardian.
