Gardner follows the steps of Williams and Lafeber into revisionist economic and foreign relation history of the United States, here, with a greater focus on the economic aspects of the FDR administration vis a vis the world. Lloyd is a great writer, entertaining, clear and critical. The scope is large but well contained, explained simply but without skipping on details. A great read, debunking the Democratic canvas and creating a realistic picture of the effects of the new deal and its diplomatic style had over the events that shaped and changed modern history, forever.
