A narrative history of the first 60 seasons of the British Touring Car Championship. Every era, every year, every race, every winner. Starting from the earliest days of the British Saloon Car Championship and following it through to the 2017 BTCC season, this book looks at the races, the cars and the drivers who made up one of the most exciting racing series on the planet. It tells the story of how the championship came to be what it is today, with all the excitement, controversy and action from over 1,000 races. This book is an attempt to document this legendary racing series, which has been largely overlooked by motor sport historians. Written in a narrative style the book helps those who did not know the origins learn about the early days, and acts as a reminder to those who know the legends or remember the races. It has detailed accounts of all the races, from every year of the championship with a handful of original illustrations (but no photographs) plus it has introductions, and summaries, of each year. The book is split into 10 different sections, each one looking at a distinct period of rules that together go to make up the first 60 Seasons of the BTCC.
