Joshua’s life as a rock guitarist seems like a dream come true. Sold out concerts, red carpet events and wild nights portray him as a confident young man with the world at his feet. Only few friends know the scars he carries. When freelance photographer Caroline meets the rock band Burning Ruins at the after party, an irresistible chemistry of attraction between her and the sexy rock guitarist is clearly seen to everybody. However, after a forced conversation from Joshua’s side, Caroline's convinced the attraction is not mutual. Waking up the next morning, Caroline has no idea what happened. She flees out of the hotel room mortified, convinced she’d become another of the band’s trophies. Determined never to meet anyone from Burning Ruins ever again, she has no clue people around her have different ideas. In a summer that takes them from London to Wales and to the sultry heat of Rome, they’re desperately fighting their demons from the past, while trying to protect their broken hearts. Will they ever let each other mend their broken hearts or will they try to heal them alone?
June was born in June and she always loved the moon. Born and raised in Slovenia, she studied economics, and quickly realised she hated it.
However, later she found herself working in mainly male-dominated businesses. She can choose the best steel for your project, but don't, please don't, ask her which lipstick brand you should use.
Although her writing was constantly criticised by her teacher that didn't stop her. Under different pen names, she had stories published in magazines, and then went on to publish three books under pen name Eri Krt.
After having two children, and learning that her second child has autism, she married their father and carried on working. Work and family life left her with little free time. But the desire to write didn't die.

All that the Heart Desires Caught Between Two Worlds and her latest novel - publication scheduled for 1st May 2018: At the End of the Summer
At the End of the Summer is a Warm and Fun read about Friendship, Self Discovery, Trust, Heartbreak, Travel, Music, Relationships and Finding Love.
Do you believe in Love at First Sight? Well that's what happened when Caroline met Joshua. But nothing ever goes quiet so smoothly on the path of true love, as Caroline and Joshua find out!
Joshua is a musician in a famous rock band and Caroline is a photographer. They meet at the band's after party, Caroline's friend Julia is friends with Joshua. When they first meet its clearly obvious they have a sizzling chemistry. If only they was both aware of it!
But they both have alot of insecurities and Trust issues, but can they work through them together or are they destined to be apart.
It took me a little while to ease into the story, but once the plot thickened and Caroline and Joshua started their journey the story came alive.
At the End of the Summer felt like a holiday romance as Moonbridge took the readers on a journey throughout several destinations. Whilst willing Caroline and Joshua to give into their feelings. It was very much a will they, won't they kind of relationship, even though it was clearly obvious they are meant to be together!
The Characters are complex and flawed but you can't help liking them. The travel destinations are beautifully written and it felt like I was in the moment.
Overall At the End of the Summer is a Light hearted compelling contemporary romance about two people finding their way and finding love whilst working through their demons. The perfect read if your looking to escape with a mix of Fun, Romance, Travel and Music.
Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I absolutely loved this story from beginning to the end. Easy reading and thoroughly enjoyed the characters, who are very believable, and it was like watching a movie, where you were drawn in straight away and didn't really want it to end. The journey the that the couple went on, through all the different countries as well as their own emotions, cleverly written, kept me very entertained. Congratulations June Moonbridge on a brilliant, Romantic and moving story. Can highly recommend.
I do love a good rock star romance, and happily, that is exactly what I got with At The End of The Summer.
The writing was spot on to convey every emotion and ambience of a moment.
A sexy, angst ridden, rocker and a beautiful photographer. After a first meet that left them both confused, but undeniably attracted to each other, we are taken on a will they, won’t they journey that was entertaining to read and kept me riveted.
The writing was intelligent and drew me into the story within the first few pages. This is rare with a book for me, I am usually delighted if the first chapter has me in it’s grip.
What was beautiful was that the whole book managed to maintain that level of interest for me. It was a total treat.
I would like to that Rachel’s Random Resources and June Moonbridge for providing me with a review copy of At The End Of The Summer. This is my honest review.
At the End of the Summer By June Moonbridge I really enjoyed this story about Joshua and Caroline who fall in love right away and have a sweet Summer holiday romance. It makes you long to pack your bags for a road trip faraway to explore new places. Just when you expect them to live happy ever after, their past demons creep up on them threatening their relationship, but it’s a story with a happy ending. This is an ideal book for your train commute or a long bus ride. I enjoyed this book because for once it’s a book where no one is hiding an evil agenda and all the characters were well liked.
A delightful contemporary romance story about musician Joshua and photographer Caroline. Their travels take then to the U.K., London and Wales. Then off to Europe and Rome. I found it an enjoyable read, and the story was quirky enough for me to keep reading to the end.
This book is not my typical read but it has changed my mind about contemporary romance. This story is a classic tale of boy meets girl, falls head over heals, and feels that he’ll tell her things about his life that would make him loose her forever. They both have misunderstandings about themselves as well as each other but come to terms with both their faults. Definitely a perfect ending to a beautiful summer in Rome.
I found myself believing I was within the pages of this book. Thoroughly well written, with lots of details of the band and the countries this couple found themselves in. I understood why the main characters needed to find time to learn about themselves as well as one another. Read the book in a short time as the story flowed well . I very much look forward to another of June Moonbridge's books. Which I hope will not be to too far in the distance.
I really enjoyed this modern romance. The characters were engaging and I could relate to them. It is a tale of two people who are deeply attracted to each other, but are prevented from admitting this due to misunderstandings and issues from the past. The change of locations added to the buzz of the story. I wanted to be there with them at times. It was a great relaxing and enjoyable read for me.
This is a pleasant read including romance and self discovery. The characters are reaching out but struggling against the past that has moulded who they are. It has all the hall marks of a modern romance although it felt like a first love story, full of naiviety and misunderstandings, rather than a mature couple finding one another. In some ways this made it charming but it didn't always quite feel as if the central characters quite matched their back story and portrayed characteristics. A gentle read to while away a cosy few hours.
Caroline and Joshua are nice people who meet by chance, feel immediately attracted to each other but have to overcome some serious hang-ups from their pasts.
I am really sorry but I found this book quite confusing. The Italian and French was not always translated, it was dialogue-heavy and Caroline in particular blew hot and cold so often that it was no wonder poor Joshua couldn't keep up.
This story had good bones but instead of a light and breezy romantic tale, it was pretty angsty and I didn't feel very emotionally connected to any of the characters as a consequence. Perhaps there were too many concepts introduced or not fully explained? I can't quite put my finger on it. Joshua's character was definitely my favourite though :)
I give this book 3.5 stars. It had a lot of potential but didn't quite hit the mark for me.
Firstly, this book isn't from a genre I usually read. The story was well-written and the characters were likeable. However, I feel the story dragged on unnecessarily. A certain climax was built up and I was expecting more. I feel this is more of a coming of age/young adult story, but the characters are all in their late twenties. I believe people who enjoy this genre will prefer it more than I did.
This is a contemporary love story about how two people try to overcome their own personal issues to find true love. It is an easy read with interesting characters and a well-put together story that lovers of this kind of book will really enjoy it. I am personally not a huge fan of this genre, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it and I won't be so quick to dismiss a book in this category again.
Thank you to the author and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
‘At the end of Summer’ is a great contemporary romance book with a bit of family drama and personal secrets thrown into the mix. The story flicks between the characters of Caroline and Josh as they begin their summer (which ended up being in Italy which I love) and ultimately their journey together.
Now it did take me a little bit of time to fully become emersed in this book and this is pretty much the only reason why I have rated this as a four star instead of a five-star read but once I got into it I didn’t want to put it down! I found it also really helped that each chapter wasn’t all that long making it way to easy to justify ‘just one more chapter’!
Both Caroline and Josh are really well written complex characters, each trying to deal with past hurts as they look on to how they could possibly have a future together. The romance aspect also took a little longer to start and at the start, I did have some questions about their initial attraction but as the book progressed I was rooting for them all the way! As I mentioned there is also a bit of family drama, secrets are thrown into the mix and I really felt that this worked to bring the book together. I also have to say I absolutely adore the cover of this book and even though I know I’m not supposed to judge a book by the cover I probably would have picked it up to read by the cover alone! A truly great four star read.
I was a little unsure about this book in the beginning as the story moved really quickly and often felt like events came to an abrupt end. Sometimes the flow is abrupt and I'd have liked more on certain parts e.g. concert at the castle, the first day of the competition, and explanations of some of the italian as not all was contextually coherent.
However, as I moved into the main part, I got really into the story and I'm glad I stuck with it.
I loved the settings of Wales and Italy. At times I felt as though I was there, experiencing the places with the characters as it was so well described.
The character of Joshua was well written and he's such a sweetheart. Auntie Nan, Nonna Rosella and other supporting characters were also very likeable. At times Caroline could be irritating. I found her a little dramatic and she was at times, unpleasant. The more I thought about this the more I liked it that she had been written this way. People are not perfect and as much as I love a good romantic heroine who is the perfect woman on the planet, it's just not how people are. To read of a character with such flaws but who still found love is comforting.
Overall I really enjoyed reading the story of Caroline and Joshua. It's a very light, quick read and great if you need a book you can read with a lot of background distraction or that you can put down and return to in between tasks.
I’ve been challenging myself in 2019 to read more contemporary romances because it is a genre I typically don’t reach for (but throughouly enjoy if well written). I’m really glad I took a chance on At the End of the Summer. It’s a beautifully written story. June Moonbridge captivated me with her characters and had me fully invested in this light hearted romance.
I really enjoyed the characters. Caroline and Joshua were well rounded and relatable. Neither perfect, both with their own flaws and personality quirks, but it just made me like them more.
If you’re a Contemporary Romance fan, At the End of the Summer is definitely for you. If you’re not typically drawn to this genre, you should still give it a go. I highly recommend it!
*I received this book as part of a blog tour with Rachel's Random Resources.*
A romantic story of misunderstandings and second chances. June Moonbridge takes you from the UK to Rome as we follow the story of photographer Caro and rock guitarist Joshua. Caro is a photographer specialising in scenery and Rome is the place she has chosen to take shots for a competition she is entering. Joshua , fresh from his band’s tour, plans to attend music school there. Thrown together on the journey to the Eternal City, Caro is wary of Joshua, having experienced an unfortunate incident during his band’s last after show party. But once they arrive things begin to change, and those around them, who can see what is really going on, conspire to get them together. A light, gentle summer read.
What a story such an emotional journey. A couple travels through all the different countries. It was just amazing to read. This is my first book by this author, and i was drawn straight in from start to finish. This author has a clever way of keeping you gripped as you read. Highly recommend to all book readers. I was sorry to see the end. Excellent and a book I could read again
I really really loved this book. Totally different to the normal kind of romance books which made it really stand out for me. The characters had a back story and both were flawed in their own ways. Lovely read...five stars 🌟
It was the story of two friends Julia and Caroline and they both live with Caroline’s Auntie Nan, who brought her up after her dad remarried. Caroline is very bitter about her father and his new family and how he betrayed her mother. But of course, things are not always as they seem.
Julia, has two childhood friends who went on to form a band, and they are the rock group the book is based around.
Joshua is very handsome and it is easy to see why Caroline falls in love with him. As with all good romances, theirs doesn’t run smoothly.
The story treats us to a bit of globe trotting from romantic Italy to beautiful Wales as the story twists and turns with a lot of great characters. Photography was what Caroline was really good at, which of course, means she can take photos of the band and it brings her into contact with Joshua.
If you are looking for one of those stories to lose yourself in, with lots of fully formed characters, exotic places, music, and love, then At the End of the Summer is perfect.
I’m a fan of June Moonbridge’s writing so was thrilled when At the End of Summer was published and what a lovely story it is. The romance between the musician, Joshua, and the photographer, Caroline, follows a shaky path of will they/won’t they taking the reader with them as they move between London, Wales and Italy. Secrets, exposures, friends who hinder as well as help and families who complicate everything. A super story with an assortment of great characters.
At the End of Summer by June Moonridge 4 stars I was gifted a free digital copy of this in return for a fair review.

I am very excited to be part of the #blogtour for At the End Of The Summer. A contemporary romance which would not be a usual read for me. Caroline and Julia have been friends since school and they both now live with Auntie Nan, Caroline’s Great Aunt who she has lived with since she was 17,Aunt Nan also took in Julia when she had nowhere to go. Caroline is a photographer and she goes to a concert of Burning Ruins who are old school friends of Julia’s. Caroline wakes up in one of the bands hotel bedrooms and has no re collection of the evening before. Caroline wins a place in a competition in Rome photographing the city. Julia arranges for Joshua to drive her there as he spends every summer in Rome. Both Joshua and Caroline have had bad experiences in their teens which have made them both vulnerable and afraid to undertake relationships. I liked the settings of the book set in Rome and Wales, I also enjoyed the dynamics that the band have which each other and how the male relationships in the story are portrayed. I loved Auntie Nan she is a strong and feisty woman and family was also featured strongly throughout this book. I think readers of romance novels will love this book and I enjoyed how the author tied up all the ends in the book.
I’ll admit I found this book a little difficult at first – I’ll happily concede that it might have had more to do with me and my concentration than the writing – but I really wasn’t that keen on the main characters or their apparent immaturity in the way they reacted to events. However, once the action moved to Rome it turned into quite a different book, and I rather enjoyed it. Both Caroline and Joshua turned out to be considerably more complex that they had appeared at first, and I enjoyed both the slow reveal of both their back stories and their developing relationship with its well-judged little touch of heat.
Caroline’s photography provides a perfect way of seeing the sights of Rome, both conventional and more unusual: I also liked the musical theme, the friendships, and the fact that nothing is quite as it first appears. I particularly enjoyed the way Caroline’s back story was developed, with its many layers of secrets and misunderstandings. And this really has to be the first book I’ve read where some of the action takes place against the not-usually-romantic backdrop of Port Talbot steelworks – as well as the Italian setting, parts of the book do take us into rather more unspoilt parts of Wales too.
While I did think some of the writing was perhaps a little dialogue-heavy, it was well done – but it was the book’s climax that I particularly enjoyed, where the story came together with a rather perfect musical note. A light read, and perhaps not entirely to my personal taste, but very enjoyable.
This is a lovely story with well developed characters.
The story follows the love story of Caroline (great name!) and Joshua. Both have their own demons, which means they have built their own walls and have secrets.
Caroline is a freelance photographer, Joshua a guitarist in a very successful band. Upon meeting they both realise that there is an instant attraction between them. However after getting off to a bad start can they move forward together?
A good read with interesting locations which include, Rome, Wales and Venice, and what a beautiful cover.
This book starts off with Caroline tired and going to a concert with her friend because her friend insisted. At the same time, or at least it felt like it, we were also introduced to Joshua, one of said band members, as he notices Caroline in the crowd trying to find her friend. He’s so taken with her as soon as he sees her that it actually distracts him from his music enough that his band mates notice. The next thing we know Caroline is waking up in a hotel bed with one of the band members singing from the shower and Caroline has no memory of how she got there. As she tries to make her escape Hale, the lead singer, comes out of the bathroom and Joshua comes in through the main door making it seem like she’s slept with both of them. And her memory can’t help her out knowing what actually happened.
Well as it turns out this is a common occurrence for Caroline if she doesn’t sleep enough. I can understand her weird ability to just fall asleep anywhere if she’s overly tired but I gotta admit I’d be at that stage after like 20 hours awake. Not like 30+ hours like she seems to manage. Is that weird that she can stay awake that long? Or am I weird for struggling to make it to only 20 hours? Honestly, I’m not sure but the fact her memory goes haywire when this happens is what adds a fair bit of drama to the story.Because of that she puts up all kinds of barriers between her and Joshua even though she is totally attracted to him.
Luckily for her, her friends and Joshua conspire to get them together and slowly but surely this happens. If only it wasn’t for her pesky relationships with her parents that makes this so difficult. I can understand hating particular traits of your parents and being terrified of having them, to the point that it cripples your ability to socialise or date. Not only is your mind going around and around in circles arguing with itself, if you manage to share these fears with anyone else, they brush them off making you feel even sillier about your fear. And I know in my case, it only instilled them further. So, Caroline not wanting to open up makes total sense to me.
What doesn’t make quite as much sense is Joshua not even telling Caroline about his sisters and their families. That’s like beyond crazy protective. How can you expect a relationship to work if you won’t even share that much detail about yourself? What makes that worse to me is the fact that he’s pursuing Caroline but won’t share even the tiniest detail about himself; yet expects her to share her life and fears with him.
By the time I was getting towards the end of the book I was getting a little bit frustrated with Caroline because Joshua just seemed so sweet. But then again, reading the book I can see his side of the story the whole way whereas she doesn’t get that perspective without asking. And even then, being able to trust what people are telling you can be a difficult thing. When I got to a certain point, I just knew I only had 2 or 3 chapters left and knew I needed to stop, get ready for bed and finish it snuggled up before going to sleep. And I was right. It was so perfectly sweet and gorgeous that I couldn’t imagine it not working out between those two characters. And for more reasons than just them getting their happily ever after with each other. But you’ll need to read the book to find out why!
