Teton

Rate this book
Shadrac Cain had taken a pleasure trip up to the Tetons a year earlier, but an arrogant European nobleman and his minions had caused so much trouble that he didn’t get to enjoy it. So when spring came to his Colorado home, he headed north again to soak up the beauty and grandeur of the Tetons. A good deed done for an old friend left him pleased he was able to help but melancholy.
Billows of smoke on the Wyoming plains usually meant trouble for someone. In this case, it meant a small family was under attack by white renegades. The extra fire power from Cain’s rifle saved the day, but at the cost of the husband and father’s life. With the man gone, the barn burned, and the stock scattered, Cain had no choice but to help get them moved to the nearest town.
Moving what goods and cattle they could gather, Shadrac set out with the aid of teen aged girl and a young boy, while the older woman drove the wagon. A second attack on the trail ended with the raiders being run off again, and one of their number dead. The gang leader swore a blood oath on Cain and dogged him almost to the Montana border.

Lou Bradshaw

Lou Bradshaw is a lifelong story teller, who spent most of his life as a commercial illustrator and graphic artist. Deadlines, clients, and vendors were all sources of sleep depriving stress. To combat insomnia, he would often create stories in his mind to take the place of what was bothering him. Soon, some of those stories had grown to the point that they needed to be put on paper. Taking up a felt tip pen and a loose leaf binder, he found something new, challenging, and exciting. He soon filled multiple binders and his distraction had become a passion. Upon retirement, he began assembling notes and scribbles into novels… the rest is history.
One of the unique features of his work is that as a dyslexic child, he was considered either slow or lazy by most of his teachers. To date he has written 7 books, which is 6 more than he was able to read while in school. His only legitimate book report, although 3 months late, was Huckleberry Finn.
Lou and his wife Avon live in the Missouri Ozarks, where they enjoy their family, golf, and the great outdoors.

This is one of the more interesting western series I have had the opportunity to read, and the Author, Mr. Lou Bradshaw, is to be commended for his exceptional contribution to our western folklore. There no stones left unturned and the excitement of the next thrilling episode is definitely worth the wait.

Definitely a five star novel and Mr. Bradshaw ranks high on my list of great western Authors. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to read several different series of old western adventures and these books, as well as the Ben Blue series, ranks among the best.

These books are classics and are worthy of being read by all lovers of real western adventures. The characters and the impressive storylines rank among the very exciting best of series.

I, without hesitation, recommend all nine books in the Cain series, as there is sufficient excitement, and interest, to maintain the readers complete, an undivided, interest!

Mr. Baghdad's series of the Shad Cain escapades are very readable, and most importantly, they are definitely family-friendly.

THE MAN SHAD CAIN

Another great great adventure of Shad Cain, and each time I read about him and his wonderful companions Bud and Dog, I know it's going to be a ride with lots of strange meetings and introductions while he's traveling to Yellowstone, Wyoming. I love the comradery of the many people he's met and how they've receive him and Dog. I hope he and the lovely Senora will change her mind about Shad and marry him,but like everything else regarding "Amore" it takes some people longer to accept what's in their 💟💖
The descriptions of the different mountain ranges I hope to visit before I pass over or they are destroyed by man. The descriptions are so real that you can smell the pine, feel the mist from the waterfalls and Bud under you and Dog at your side...that's a comforting feeling..it's comes down to you really don't need the company of people with their problems..

Go west young man

Cain may be an old geezer, but he is young at heart, much like the author that created him. He is still a wonder to read about and I hope he will remain that way for a long time to come. Another time yarn Lou keep 'em coming.

Slow start then it flies!

Not much I like more than a man with a dog and strength of the positive kind.
Shasta Cain is that kind of man. And Lou Bradshaw writes him very well indeed.

The Yellowstone has new meaning!

A smart man with a smart dog and a smart horse make a very interesting story. With the author”s description it was easy to visualize. The country as he moved along. There was a lot of action. But the man and his team came out ahead.

Excellent

Another good story from Lou . And bad guys wanting something that wasn't theirs. It seems that a lot of conflict comes from some folks wanting stuff they haven't worked for.

Love of country

As always it seems, Cain depends on his animal pals to get thru dangerous situations. But they add a lot to his story.
