Casi Seever is an affable and agreeable neighbor with a special gift, an ability that some may consider hair-raising and downright creepy. When the Bakers experienced a death in the family, Casi bewailed the fact she is not able to lend a helping hand. The thought weighed on her, and the only solution is a trip to ease her frustration; a trip planned by her brother, Tom, to the Slasher Experience. Casi and friends were supposed to have the experience of a lifetime, but when their adventurous expedition turned from bad to worse, it’s a matter of true survival. A terrifying figure lurks around the cabins of the Slasher Experience awaiting the right moment to unleash its wrath. Will Casi and friends survive?

Delving into the eerie underworld of horror, Bialois’ The Slasher Experience is not for the faint of heart. The prose is absolutely brilliant, the reader is thrust almost immediately into a tale of terror, and the author excelled at providing a brilliant twist at the end of the prologue. The story propels readers to wonder what’s next as the suspense continuously ascends. The story is lathered with a cacophony of well-written characters, suspenseful scenes, and brilliant twists and turns. Good job, author Bialois, you've done it again.

The Slasher Experience centers around a group of teens who head out for what is supposed to be a fun weekend. They purchased tickets to a campground hosting an exciting event where they can live out scenes from their favorite slasher film. The only problem is, someone is bringing the game to life, and the bodies piling up aren't movie props. With campers dropping like flies, it's hard to guess who the real killer might be. Even Casi, who has some unique physic abilities, doesn't know who to trust as one by one the people around her meet a gruesome end.

If you're a fan of of the horror genre, you're going to love this book! It flows like an eighties horror movie, and the scenes play out in your mind like a screenplay as you read the vivid imagery. All the characters have depth, even when they are killed in the same chapter where they are introduced. There is also more to it than simply a gruesome gore fest. Though, who doesn't enjoy that? There are also paranormal aspects and elements of mystery. The thrilling conclusion leaves you wanting more. Luckily, Slasher 2 is slated for an October release. I got a sneak peek, and it's just as good as the first. Truly, the Slasher series is horror at it's finest, and has rekindled my fondness for the old cult classics of the eighties.

I'm a huge fan of 80's slasher horror films and stories, and C.P. Bialois does an excellent job of capturing the genre in The Slasher Experience. Centered on Casi, who has a supernatural/paranormal type gift, her brother Tom, and Tom's friends, Zach and Joy, The Slasher Experience takes place at a camp that is set up as a murder mystery type game, based on a horror film. Soon, the characters are embroiled in a real life horror movie, when campers and staff are killed off one by one. C.P. Bialois' love for these types of stories shines through. I really enjoyed reading The Slasher Experience, and definitely want to check out more of C.P. Bialois' writing.

The Slasher Experience is a horror novel set in modern day. Most of the story takes place at a summer camp before the summer season at a murder mystery weekend themed after a popular slasher film. If follows multiple characters, including Casi, a shy young woman with special abilities, and her friends; Derik, the owner of the camp; and Tucker Cunningham, the star of the popular slasher film reprising his role at the event. Along with other guests, Casi and her friends go to the event for a fun weekend getaway. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to the employees and guests, a real killer stalks the campground, reenacting the kills of the movie. Guests go missing and bodies pile up before the weekend officially begins, but the killer is stealthy and clever, hiding his deeds until the time is right.

The Slasher Experience is an entertaining horror story. The campground is described very well, allowing the reader to feel the isolation of the setting. All the characters involved are unique, well-rounded people who have their own reasons for being at the camp. Casi is shy, but slowly comes out of her shell as the story progresses.

Overall, The Slasher Experience is a fun and unique horror story. It is a clear love letter to 80’s slasher films and both follows the formula and adds unique twists to the genre. It is a slow burn, gradually building up the tension as the story progresses and the atmosphere is perfectly developed. Fans of the slasher genre will certainly enjoy this story and will be looking forward to possible future installments.

As I read this book it played out like a movie in my mind. It is what I would call a true b class movie. For a book, it was pretty decent. There were a lot of characters and sometimes its hard for me to remember each and every one of them by name. I love the slashing parts. An ax as a weapon in the woods is pretty classic. I wish the slashing parts had been a bit bloodier, but I still enjoyed it.
The idea of living out a horror movie in the woods during a camping trip sounds epic. Overall, this was a great idea
