Amy Ehrlich is the author of more than thirty books for young readers and is also a winner of The Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award for her novel Joyride, which was also chosen Booklist Choice Best Book of the Decade. She lives on a farm in Northern Vermont with her husband and a great many domestic and agricultural animals.
The illustrations were nice. I didn’t like the racist game they played, or how the children were scared of being punished by their parent or the part about the kids getting in a physical fight.
This is a lot like Bunnies All Day Long. It's just there. There isn't anything to it. This isn't anything that I could actually recommend. It's like filler and nothing else. The story is okay but that's it. The illustrations are okay and that's it. I suppose if you have a kid that's way hung up on bunnies it may be more worth it but even then there are a ton of bunny-filled children's books out there. Julia and I read Ehrlich's adaptation of Thumbalina and we enjoyed that more. She also has at least a few more adaptations of popular fairy tales like Cinderella and Rapunzel. I think we'll stick to this from Ehrlich.
