Even though this book was published in 1981 and it has been almost 30+ years in Hollywood it was still very interesting about the behind-the-scenes job that most of us don't consider. The computer effects and technology has changed while there are now more ways of doing things that back then they may not have thought of but even now in Hollywood stuntpeople are very much needed for movies.

This book was very interesting in introducing names of stuntpeople that the older generations may remember. It was full of facts of how to do certain stunts, how these people prepared for their gags and what they had prepared or entered the field. This book is definitely an eye-opener for anyone who is into action. I would highly recommend this book even while being a bit outdated for a careers day book.

And the best part of the book in my opinion was the last chapter, which was about learning to be a stunt person. First of all it did a great job in emphasizing that although the job may sound glamorous and fun to those who are interested to get a break into Hollywood is no easy job and that only a small percentage will make it. This fact is the one fact that no one ever thinks of as they try to head out for Hollywood.

Furthermore the last chapter explains a stunt school and what your training would be like if you were a beginner. These training days are split up into days like Day 1 and Day 3 while explaining how you gradually start to learn the basics over a 6-day course then graduate to adding more to your skill level.

This writing and reading was simple and easy to understand. Each stuntperson and one of these things they did as a gag started off each chapter while black and white pictures added a last touch to the book.
