Based on the 1987 novel, this terrifying story of imprisonment by a demented fan is one of the greatest thrillers ever written.
This brand new full-cast dramatisation tells the story of Paul Sheldon, a writer famous for Victorian-era romance novels involving the character of Misery Chastain. When he is rescued from a car crash by crazed fan Annie Wilkes, he soon discovers that this is one fan he is going to have to try to keep happy...
I'm not a fan of MISERY. It's one of those stories that pushes my buttons in all the wrong places. I listened to the radio adaptation of the stage adaptation of the book. I'm still not a fan of this story but I have to say Miriam Margolyes is absolutely fantastic as Annie Wilkes. It's worth listening to just for performance.
