Brenda Minton lives, procrastinates, writes, drinks coffee, raises her kids and is wife to her husband, in the Ozarks.
Okay, now to first person because a third person bio sounds like someone else wrote it about me, and is just license to create flowery prose about myself.
I grew up on a farm in the Ozarks. It was long ago and far away, in a land before cable TV, video games and the internet. To pass the time we read books, watched (gasp) network TV that rarely came in clear, and had friends over on weekends to play music on the front porch, or card games in the dining room.
The result of growing up 'country' was an active imagination. For fun I wrote stories to entertain myself and I dreamed of being an author. Oh, but first, before writing, I wanted to be a jockey.
Writing won out over being a jockey. In the spring of 2006 I got the call that made those dreams come true: the call that welcomed me into the Steeple Hill family of authors.
I usually like these books. But i feel like the writer was trying to hurry the story up too much. It all happened really fast, and there were parts where it was dialog and he would ask a question and then it would jump into something else. I feel like the writting wasn't very good... it felt like a draft, not a finished product.
I liked & my heart broke 💔 for the children. I liked learning the facts about PTSD, Autism, & service dog. I didn't like Carson. I love ❤ Brenda Minton books 📚 but not this one.

I loved this story. Its a story of second chances and mercy. Hence mercy ranch. I loved meeting the characters in this story especially Carson West and Kylie Baker. At 13 they had been special to each other then life happened. I love the way Brenda wrote this story for you meet part of Carson's family which gives you a understanding of the journey he has taken. With Kylie you see how her life has been touched by parts of Carson's family. I love the way she weaves the story and draws you into it. You get to see how people have been hurt by decisions made then the forgiveness given in the end for Carson and Kylie. You also see how some haven't forgiven themselves for those decisions made yet. Its a great book and hard to put down once started. Its definitely worth reading.
To say that I am a HUGE fan of Brenda Minton is an understatement. I have read just about every book she has published.
Reunited with the Rancher (Mercy Ranch Book 1) if not her typically writing that I have come to know and love, but a good story just the same. If there is one thing Ms Minton’s books do, it is leave me wanting another. Can’t wait to read the next.
The back cover: Returning home to confront his father about the past, single dad Carson West never expects a reunion with his childhood sweetheart. Kylie Baker thought she was content working at the ranch for wounded warriors…until Carson and his kids arrive. Now the widowed veteran’s yearning for everything she thought she couldn’t have—a lasting love and a forever family.
Reunited With The Rancher by Brenda Minton. Jack West signed paper of his three children over to his wife when she left him. Saying he would never see them again. Jack did go to all the important things in his children live. The children didn't know it cause he stayed in the back ground. Now one Single dad, Carson West is on his way to the big city and stops to confront his father. Carson's teenage girlfriend, Kylie Baker, is working there on the rehab ranch that Jack owns, For wounded warriors. A very touching, moving, romantic story.
This is a start of a new series, I cannot wait until the next one comes out. I loved Mercy Ranch. Carson goes back to the ranch that his mom took him away from. Carson is a widow with 3 small children, one that has autism, children bring so much to a story. The ranch has dogs they are training for therapy dogs. Kylie works at the ranch with all the animals and disabled veterans. This is a very special story.
Once again young love separates, is lost but finds each other again. After serious trafedy for both Kylie and Carson. Misunderstandings of a father watching every step of his son’s growing up while the son thinks he was abandoned. Fate, health and faith bring all of them together. In so doing a little girl, a little boy , a dog and a grandpa come out on top. This was my first Minton book. Makes me want to read her other series
A friend recommended this delightful romance, and I raced through it. The writing was good, the characters were lovely, and the animals and children were just adorable.
This a good story with heart and great characters. The author is well informed an makes the story sound like someone live. I wanted to meet the people and get to know them better.
