The Via Francigena stretches over 1,000 miles from Canterbury to Rome and is one of the three major pilgrimages of the Roman Catholic faith. For over a thousand years, pilgrims have walked this road.
Focusing on the beautiful region of Tuscany, this book gives you the information you need to understand, prepare for, and pack for your pilgrimage on the Via. From when to go and where to start to what to carry, here's the practical information you'll need for your journey.
This book provides some nitty-gritty practical information for those who are getting ready for their first big walk, or who are looking for more detailed advice on packing and gear. It's an honest interpretation of one persons walk and the lessons they learned and wished they could share from their experience. It is by no means comprehensive and is meant to be a quick read. For what it is, I appreciated reading Ryan's sometimes humorous advice on topics such as foot care and what to put in your medical kit.
This book is a good resource for anyone walking the Via Francigena in Tuscany. I found a lot of useful suggestions, and I've already walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
