blank tapes returns with 17 new weird and dangerous tales. This is not a typical collection of stories. If you feel discomfort, uneasiness, a sense of disassociation and mild paranoia after reading these stories the publisher cannot be held responsible. blank tapes is a challenging and daring mix of poetry, experimental fiction and short stories with dark themes. It is not for the faint of heart, weak of bladder and narrow of mind. Inside you will find missives from the outer parts of human experience, and a few from beyond that which have slipped through the cracks in reality to find their way into your hands.
Praise for 'blank tapes volume 1':

Back in February I reviewed Blank Tapes, Volume 1 and really liked it. The editor/author kindly sent me the second volume for review consideration. I have not had any occasion to retract my opinion. While I didn't love all of the stories presented it was still one heck of a ride. Reading Blank Tapes is like being on a roller coaster ride of words and images. Some are straight stories, others seem like stream of consciousness snippets and still others are like watching The Ring video or an arthouse flick that's all images coming at you so rapidly you have to keep up.
It's a little hard to parse these out like a normal anthology but I'll try.
Sky by Jodie Wenner - I loved this story. It had a very vivid sense of strangeness, ominous atmosphere, and also hope. With a tantalizing mystery at the end.
The Morning After by Shane Moritz - This was a strange little slice of story that I really wish was a bit longer. It made me curious.
Not a Bad Deal by Tim Clark - I loved this story. A great deal with the Devil story with a twist to it that also made me chuckle a bit.
Born on the Dance Floor by Damn Sung - *Blink, blink* That was pretty much my reaction after reading this strange little story.
Block 4 - Puck by Paul Huxley - I liked the back and forth flow to this story and I seem to remember the black block from somewhere.
//sluicing by R Keith - This was a strange stream of consciousness story that I can't say that I particularly enjoyed but others might like it better.
Keep Moving by Alice Sabo - A very good story if slightly (ok, more than slightly) depressing.
Knots by Nick Romero - This story...this story...whipsawed back and forth so quickly I think I sprained my eyes. It was a constant barrage of strangeness that was strangely fascinating at the same time.
Act of Giving Final Consciousness by Norbert Gora - An interesting poem that paints a vivid word picture.
Rose in Stasis by Paul Huxley - I enjoyed this story as well. It had an interesting premise and gives you a good "What if?" thought to it.
Pissing My Life Away by roop - I can't say that I enjoyed this one too much but others might like it better.
Behind a Set of Glowing Eyes by J.C. Brown - A longish, meandering story where several narratives add up to one ball of odd but intriguing story.
Looking for God in all the Wrong Places by roop - Sorry, roop. I don't find crudity shocking nor interesting.
Beetroot Farmer by Dermot Jelfs - Um, ok! That was a story! A very strange story. I can't say that it was bad, just odd. And I did like it.
The Web of Life by Brea Behn - A very beautiful story and an interesting thought on beyond.
Walk the Walk by Georgia Ruth - Holy crap this story got me. I don't want to ruin it but when I thought I knew what the ending was going to be...I didn't.
Another great collection that does dance with weirdness but is absolutely absorbing. I'm looking forward to volume three.
