Interesting tale of the first great British admiral. Covers the turbulent period of the English Civil War and Cromwell's Commonwealth and how Blake (and a few others) made the British Navy into the world's dominant sea power. It is extremely gushing about how wonderful Blake was, but as this is the only biography of him I am likely to read, I must agree that he was a great man and I am happy to have read his story.
