Lauren’s trying to use her time travel powers for good, but soon finds herself immersed in a dark world of crime and revenge. Meanwhile Kyra gets involved in a treasure hunt with a spirit whilst being stalked by a visitor from a parallel dimension and, maybe, just maybe falling slightly in love with her best friend, and Noah joins forces with Crystal to solve an altogether more Earthly mystery. Can the dream riders come together to prevent the terrifying premonition glimpsed by Liam - involving at least one of their own being in grave danger - from coming true, or are they all just too lost in their own shadows to see the light?
You might think that having four children and a thriving design & illustration business would be enough for Lynda and Michael Mangoro, but not so… both are born storytellers and writing books was a dream that wouldn’t go away. Combined with their passion for all things supernatural and metaphysical, it seemed only natural when the Dream Riders series were niggling to be birthed to go ahead and write them.
Awakening of the Dream Riders their first YA metaphysical fiction was soon followed by Shadow, and the third as yet untitled book in the series is due for release in Spring 2019.
The couple live with their sons Samuel, Jacob, Oliver, and Elijah in Sussex, UK and when not writing, designing, and illustrating, they love to go on adventures around the world, do normal family type stuff, and – of course – reading.
Shadow of the Dream Riders by Linda Mangoro and Michael Mangoro, is the sequel to Awakening of the Dream Riders. While its technically the second book, it can easily be a stand alone book as you don’t need to read Awakening to keep up with this one. The story is basically a continuance from the awakening of the Dream riders, where the crew of young adults discovered and started mastering their new found power of being able to leave their body and explore other times/places. Now that they have grown confident in their skills the Dream Riders are learning about the responsibility that comes with their abilities, and they use their powers to fight crime. Life gets a little hard to handle but with their bonds and friendships they make it through. I really enjoyed reading this book and think it is perfect for young adults. I will be looking for more Dream Riders books!
This book by Lynda Mangoro and Michael Mangoro is a captivating tale about dream riders who travel through time to meet certain people and do specific tasks. For instance, one is thrown into a life of crime while another rider works in another time dimension to help find buried treasure. As they work in their different dimensions, some issues start to arise and it’s up to the dream riders to work together to fix them.
This book is a creative story that is a great blend of the science fiction and paranormal genres. While the book is a little long (441 pages), it’s well worth investing the time into reading thanks to the Mangoro’s unique writing style and plot. Some areas do seem to go by a little fast, but it’s still an enjoyable story. If you’re looking for a creative and intriguing read to add to your bookshelf, you’ll definitely want to consider this book.
I don't think I've EVER read a story with Astral Projection (they call it Dream Riding) as a central story line before. I really enjoyed it's originality. there are tonnes of characters in this with well built back stories. they intertwine well, but I would have liked some longer chapters to explore their stories in a bit more depth sometimes. it felt a bit choppy in places. I'm going to look out for the sequel novel as this was a brilliant set up. I do feel that it could do with some editing to improve the flow overall but I didn't lose interest once. Really original, thrilling and poignant in all the right places.
