You get to be in the driver's seat for this field trip gone hilariously awry. C'mon, did you expect any less when Frankie is involved? While there are a few happy endings, most most paths are full of danger and lead to certain death. Nothing gory or graphic, more in the cartoon violence type way and written with a comic touch. Kind of Ms. Frizzle meets Lemony Snickett type humor. Which is an odd combo, but it works. My kids liked the grizzly endings where they became slaves to their ant overlords or were eaten by ladybugs or got stuck in a giant wad of exploding gum best. Actually their favorite was The Ending that is Too Scary for One of the Authors.

The story parts on this between choices are a bit longer than in similar books and build some really engaging and humorous stories. Definitely a hit with the elementary crowd it is aimed at. This is the type of book that is great for reluctant or emerging readers because it is made up of all these bite sized interactive chunks. Lots of action, get to the resolution quickly, plenty of humor, and even a little bit of science thrown in.

The embedded links make it super easy to navigate through the story. Each ending contains links that send you back to the last major decision you made or the beginning so you can start again.
