From the Dear Reader
At one time or another, most of us have had to deal with teasing, people saying mean things about us, or others trying to harm us. As a teacher, I've seen many kids hurt by bullying—both the emotional kind and the physical.
It can be hard to feel good about yourself when somebody's making fun of you or threatening you. You might worry that you deserve it, or that people think you're weak, or that you'll get teased or rejected by others if you tell someone. You might be afraid that you're in physical danger. The pain is hard to take, but you don't want to give the bully a reason to hurt you more. You feel alone and don't know where to go for help. What do you do?
This was a good book. This book was about a young boy named Steve he was getting bullied by Gus. Steve wanted to speak up several times if him being bullied but was afraid. One day Steve got the courage to talk to his parents about his issues at school. His parents helped him come up with a plan to stoop Gus from picking on Steve. Steve’s parents gave him the courage to over come Gus and his bullying.
This is a great book on bullying, how it happens, what the child feels like. And when the child finally says something about what is going on. I really liked the illustrations. It is a book with American history in it though, that's the only downside.
