The daughter of a peasant, Matilda goes to work at the Lain castle, away from her parents for the first time in her life, her mother’s admonishments to stay away from the men of the castle still ringing in her ears. With barely enough time to put her things away, she meets the son of the family, who makes it clear he is very interested in her. Afraid to trust him, she follows his commands and finds herself engaged to him within the week. Robert Lain has always known that he would someday meet the woman who was just right for him and together they would raise seven sons. When he sees Matilda dusting his home he knows that she is the woman he’s waited his entire life for. Will he be able to convince her that his feelings for her are more than lust? Or will they have their sons without ever feeling the closeness both of their parents enjoy?
Warning: There is a short mild sex scene in this book.
Brilliant narration of Alison Phoenix, who brings the emotions, drama, angst, romance and the steam to your ears.
Matilda comes from a humble back ground. She finds herself working at the Lain castle, away from her parents for the first time in her life. When Robert, sees Matilda he knows that she is the woman he has being waiting for. The he wants to have and raise seven sons with. He now must convince Matilda his feeling are more that lust but one of love.
Great characters, drama, romance and the right amount of steam.
A wonderful book about equality and hope. Robert and Matilda make a beautiful couple. I am looking forward to read the rest of the coming books where readers will be introduced to all of the powers the “Seven Sons” inherited. I do wish we could read more about the aunt Christiana and Eve. Maybe there will be two more separate series. Great Job Mrs. Osbourne.
Robert/ mental control of objects (1st gen 7th son of Alex and Lina/gifts of power) and Matilda/peasant. I enjoyed this story of instant love that a 7th son experiences when he finds his fated person. He is the 1st 7th son to have both Luck and gift of a "power". The story progressed steadily, has well developed characters and a very happy and satisfying HEA!! Great epilogue!! I Have really enjoyed this series so far!
When Matilda goes to work at the castle the last thing she expects is that Robert the young Lord would want her as his wife. Now he just needs to convince her they have a future together. I am enjoying this series and the characters. The story is really brought to life with Alison Phoenix's narration.
Changing places in life from poverty and finding that there are people who treat everyone with kindness and fairly is surprising and requires adjustments which make an interesting tale.
Robert is the seventh son, and has the power to move objects with his mind. When he sees the maid Matilda he knows he has found his intended. Seven sons soon follow. Will the seventh have his own powers?
Lovely story, a quick read but so much fun! A good addition to the seventh son series! Can a peasant girl and a Lord be married? And will they find true love? Good read!
I am really enjoying this new series. I loved Robert and Matilda’s story and cannot wait for the next. These stories are warm-hearted and bring a smile to my face.
The books in this series can not come soon enough for me! Robert is only the 2nd but I'm ready for more Kirsten Osbourne weaves the stories into each other so well!!
I really enjoyed the story of the growing relationship and trust. It was also great to see the continuing story of the previous characters and their lives.
I love how this follows the 1st book. I very much enjoyed this couple. But why do I want to know more about the other 6 brothers. Will continue reading☺
