The gunshot that put Carlos Sullivan in a coma incapacitated him for weeks, but it didn’t rob him of his intuition. His sense that another terrorist cell had formed was right on the money. Sullivan and his FBI team have plenty of experience with the Wallace family, but the new Coyote clan is largely an unknown. This unfamiliar group is composed of the four Foster children. Their leader, William Foster, infiltrated Maine law enforcement as a state trooper. His sisters, the twins, have an interest in explosives. And his brother, Sean, who was crippled by an accident in El Salvador, is a cyber expert. With their combined skills, they wreak a lot of havoc throughout Maine and Massachusetts. Sullivan finds friends and colleagues falling dead at his feet. Between the Fosters and his own dark secret, can he ever hope to make it out alive? Coyote Rising is the riveting finale of the Coyote Wars series. It’s heaped with tension, and countless twists and turns will keep you guessing until the very last page. An FBI agent himself, Michael De La Peña wrote this series to show the true nature of the FBI and the teamwork that makes success possible.
LOVED this 3rd book in the series! Best one, in my opinion! Several twists and turns in this book that kept you trying to figure out what was going to happen next. As with the other books, we get a small bit of 'behind the curtain' info of what goes on in the FBI.
I love reading books that take place in/around the Boston area, because I can know the landmarks that are being mentioned and I feel as though I'm right there in the midst of the plot lines. I found my heart pumping a few times and had to finish the chapter before putting the book down.
This trilogy would seem far fetched years ago (in my eyes), but with the terror and hate in the world today, you can see where this could actually happen. Do yourself a favor and start with the first book (The Coyote Wars) so you can fully appreciate this book and the one in between (Coyote Rising).
Sullivan and his team are miraculously able to trace the location of the elusive Fortress in the middle of nowhere through a combination of observation, critical thinking, an international excursion, and the right informants. Their next task involves identifying and locating each member of the Foster family. I was impressed with the author’s imagination and style of writing. Keep reading for an epic and unexpected ending to the series.
Enjoyed this book like the two that preceded it. Sad that this marks the end of the Coyote series. Fast paced, lots of twists and turns. Everyone should read all three books in the series
Having enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy, I eagerly read this book as well. It did not disappoint. While it was a fun book to kick back and read on a couple of very cold winter nights, it was also interesting in light of the headlines in the news lately about cyber attacks, drones, terrorism, etc. As a New Englander, I love the bridge on the cover and where most scenes took place. Although it sounds as though this is the last book another would be kind of nice.
I enjoyed Coyote Rising, especially the parts that focused on Sully and his team dealing with the Foster family. For me, there was too much attention given to the details of the FBI procedures.
