While it can seem dry and choppy - mainly because it is primarily a collection of stories of small events along the railroad - the book contains a lot of information that will be interesting to people who live in Baltimore and the area to the north east of town.

The PWBR was a major artery for troops and material during the war, and many notable characters traveled along it on their way to and from the events that made them famous. Recommended for Maryland Civil War buffs, and for those who are interested in some of the “behind-the-scenes” stuff that made the Union war effort work.
