As a fan of the Beach Brides series, who devoured each and every book; I looked forward to being reacquainted with the talented authors and the Perfect Match series. A delightful premise of spending a free week's vacation on a tropical island of one's choice with the perfect match. Aileen Fish is a talented writer. She had me hooked in Chapters 1 & 2. Marni and Matt are believable characters. I was really starting to like them, when WHAM they were home. Chapters 1 & 2 Marni and Matt deciding whether to take the offer. Chapter 3 - 6 on the island with a few dates, nothing spectacular. Chapter 7 - Deciding to connect again.
Here is WHY I give this book 2 STARS - CLIFF HANGER after 45 pages for $2.99 - now BUY my next book. No title of this new book / no link / nothing. Poorly executed. Also after paying $2.99 per Beach Bride book, during the Perfect Match promotion each book was on sale for 99 cents. SO wait for a sale. I just cancelled all my preorders. While I often have a shortened attention span during the summer and therefore enjoy reading novellas, this was a SHORT STORY. Read A Tuscan Legacy - the series will not disappoint with its twist and turn plot and mysterious paintings and around the world settings. Preorder price is only 99 cents and after release day then $2.99.

Short

I have read book chapters that were longer than this novella. You don't learn much at all about the characters, and nothing about the wonderful location they went to.

Friends!

Marni: It was a sweet friends to romance story. I liked how Matt wanted to try the dating service to see what happens. I liked that Marni and Matt bonded as friends but there was more but didn't do anything about it until they realized after they were apart for a while. It was a good story.

None of the books in this series are long, however, Marni SEEMS way to short. I think it’s because the ending is abrupt & doesn’t come to a for sure happily ever after. This may or may not be a negative. I’m interested in seeing what happens next with these characters and where the author is going with them.

This is a very quick read. It’s under 30 pages. (There’s an excerpt of the next book in the series at the end.) So, with that in mind, I really enjoyed it. I liked Matt and Marni and the friendship that developed between them. The ending was abrupt, and I really wanted more. Yeah, 30 pages. I knew where things were headed though, so I was ok with it.

SHORT AND SWEET

A short cuts story about two people who are matched by the dating device for their free vacation to St. Croix. Once they meet, are shocked to find they have mutual friends and have meet before. Although total opposites, they agree to spend their free vacation together and part as friends after their week. Interesting ending with possibilities.

This is the 2nd book I read by Aileen Fish 🐟. The setting sounded beautiful. I loved ❤ Matt's character. My problems with this story 📖 are: I didn't Marni's character. I didn't like how Marni treated Matt. I didn't feel romance 💏 in this story. I didn't like the ending.
