This book talks about the fundamental basics of motion. Motion comes with everything we do whether it be kicking a ball or the Earth moving around the sun. Friction is a force that helps to stop movement. We are then introduced to the concept of drag, which is like friction, but for things in the air and in water. Sir Isaac Newton, one of the world's greatest scientists found out that gravity holds things in place. We learn about his first, second, and third law and why they are so important. I gave this book 5 stars. This book has a ton of beneficial information to teach children about motion that is broken down into sub categories. On each page when a new concept is introduced, there is an example with a picture to match it. This is a great way for a child to visually see what they are learning about and grasp the content more clearly. Overall, the illustrations were very well thought out and matched the text perfectly. I think the text was very kid friendly but did have a few tricky words. Lastly, at the end of the book there is a science experiment that you can try which children might find interesting.

This book about motion is something that could be read aloud with the whole class. There is a lot of information about gravity, friction, etc that can be used in a unit on motion. I would use this with students in grades 2 or 3 through 5 and beyond.
