Heather and Amy help solve a murder that took place at an Easter Egg Hunt. I absolutely love holiday stories! The description of the donuts has me wanting to run out and buy some! I have to admit that I didn't figure out who the murderer was until the end.

Easter in Key West has its egg hunt on the beach. The Key West Beach Detector Club uses plastic eggs with prizes inside them. The children use metal detectors to find the eggs. The one to find the golden egg wins a big prize....this year, it is the choice of the first piece of a huge chocolate bunny. For this hunt, Heather Shepherd, owner of Donut Delights donut shop has created the Chocolate Hazelnut donut to serve at the hunt. Heather and her family and friends are enjoying watching plus participating with Lilly in finding eggs. Then a member of the club discovers the head of the huge chocolate bunny is gone. Next the Easter Bunny appears but doesn’t stop to talk with the children. Then the man who was to play the Easter Bunny reports the costume missing. While searching for the chocolate bunny head and the lost costume, a metal detector with blood on it is discovered, followed by a dead body. Who stole the chocolate? Who stole the costume? Was it the same thief? Were both incidents related? Was a member of the club or a family member of those participating a murder? Lots of interesting, quirky, colorful characters present as suspects. An original plotted adventure in a beautiful setting. This is book # 27 in the Oceanside Cozy Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone. I volunteered to read Chocolate Hazelnut & Murder. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.

Review:
The characters are well round and well developed. I really like the close relationships between Heather and Amy’s families. They not only work well together but they enjoy each other friendship and their families get along well.
I liked the fact that this mystery took place at an Easter Egg Hunt, especially because this is Easter weekend. There were a lot of people at the egg hunt and that made for more suspects to consider. The mystery was well plotted and carried on well throughout the book. The writing style flowed smoothly and the book is an easy read.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. If you want a good book to help you pass away a weekend, give this book a try.
Easter has arrived in Oceanside and Heather, her family, and friends are all excited about the Easter Egg Hunt festivities sponsored by the Key West Beach Detector Club that will be held on the beach. Heather has created a special donut just for the occasion that will be served to all the participants and their families.
Things start out with lots of fun as the families use their detectors to find the hidden eggs that have little gifts inside them. Heather’s daughter found the Golden Egg that will allow her to choose the tastiest part of the giant chocolate bunny that everyone will enjoy when the hunt come to an end.
But then one of the club members discovers that someone stole the head of the chocolate bunny and Heather, her best friend Amy, and husband, Detetive Ryan Shepherd are asked to find the chocolate thief. But what was found was a dead body! One of the club members, Brian Silver, was found dead and everyone is a suspect. The victim was hit over the head with one of the detectors but who did it? Was it the the man dressed up as the Easter Bunny? Was it one of the club members? Even grouchy old Mr. Rankle isn’t safe from suspicion even though he’s in a wheelchair.
Heather, Amy, and Ryan are on the case to discover who the murderer is and if the Easter Bunny had something to do with it.
“Chocolate Hazelnut & Murder” is author Susan Gillard’s 27th installment of her popular Oceanfront Cozy Series. Each book is a fun read with lots of new donut flavors, great characters, and celebrating a holiday. The books are wonderful for all readers with no violence just lots of love. A great series for every cozy-lover out there.

I have read so far all of this series and found this one very intriguing and surprising. Murder at the Easter hunt is making things hard on the characters this time around. Will they find the murder and save Easter for all. Loved it !
What could be more fun than an Easter Egg hunt on the beach using metal detectors for Lilly. That is until a body is discovered. Heather and Amy help solve the murder with plenty of suspects as there were a lot of people looking for eggs. Another yummy sounding donut, family and friends make this a fun series to read.

Another fun read in this series. I really enjoy this series and the characters that populate the stories.
The metal detecting group is having an Easter egg hunt. Snacks of all types are available including Heather’s newest donut creation. Of course no event that Heather is involved with is complete without a murder! It’s up to Heather, Amy, and the Key West police to solve this quickly.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
Heather and the gang are back & this time it's Easter. A body is discovered during a beach Easter egg hunt. Did the bunny commit the crime? Join them as they try to solve another murder mystery.
Heather and Amy and the gang solve another mystery. This had a good plot and a lot of characters to sift through to find the real killer. Thanks for a great series. Looking forward to the next book.
Another great story. Had me at one point but surprised me at end on who the murderer was. Always love reading about Heather, Ryan, and the gang. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
Dual feelings - kill someone at a kid's event that sadder than 40 days & nights of endless rain! On the other hand, the team works together even though they get thrown off track but they regroup quickly.
