Although working as a baker for many years, writing has been a passion for Chris for some time, starting in high school and reigniting again in 2006, when he first got the inspiration to begin writing 'The Man In Black.' After completing that project eight years later, he took part in NaNoWriMo in November 2014, culminating into a project named 5PM. Deciding to self-publish, 5PM came out in February 2015, and then The Man In Black in August. 2016 saw the release of 7PM, and in that same year, his writing path met with that of Canadian author Kate Reedwood. A mutual respect of each other's work ignited an interest in working together, creating the Legacy Hunter series, the first of which to come out in July 2017. Apart from writing, Chris enjoys travelling, reading, watching movies and all things geeky. He resides in Coffs Harbour with his wife and three children. Chris will be at Nexus Con on July 29 celebrating the release of the first book in his Legacy Hunter series.
I have said it many times before and I will say it again, when a book is written by two or more authors it often turns out cringeworthy and confusing. Yet again these two authors have defied the odds. Dark Horison drew me in from the first page and I honestly couldn't read it fast enough! Action, romance, hope and betrayal, this book has it all. C. Heinicke and K. Reedwood work as an amazing team to bring these characters to life and telling their story. Can't wait for the next one!
This is Book 3 in the Legacy Hunter series, and it is full of action, suspense and romance. There are NO dull moments in this book! This writing team put an amazing story together. Their writing styles fit seamlessly, and together they wrote a dynamic and exciting story.
The characters are colorful, interesting and very likable. The story is complex and moves at a very good pace. If you have not read this series I highly recommend that you do, and I would start from the beginning. You will not be disappointed! I loved this book and I highly recommend it!
Is it just me or does anyone else gets giddy when the next book of a fabulous series is released? I was dancing for joy when Dark Horizon was available to the public. I absolutely love the writing styles of Chris Heinicke and Kate Reedwood. Their stories flow smoothly and keep the reader engaged from the first page to the very last page. You don’t want the story to end!
Dark Horizon picks right up where Star Keeper left off. Action and suspense begin immediately and doesn’t stop. I will say the end of chapter one left me heartbroken but it was quickly mended in chapter two. (Huge sigh of relief) The unique story lines keeps the reader guessing and the end, well let’s just say my jaw is still on the floor! I truly can’t wait for book four! The Legacy Series is a must read for any fan of science fiction.
The Legacy Hunter series is a fun, interesting series written by Chris Heinicke and Kate Reedwood, two authors who work exceptionally well together. I love this series as the storylines and characters are quite original and very interesting.
Dark Horizon is the third book in the series and follows the characters as they attempt to rescue a stardrive that is rumored to be destroyed at a celebration while also avoiding Ellie's whack-a-doodle mother, Rose Cruz. I really liked Iris and Shiznit and look forward to more of them, along with Axel Ryan and Ellie, of course, in the next installment. Well written and very entertaining, the books in this series are very quick reads for me, as they are hard to put down.
I am looking forward to starting the next book in the series, Fatal Fortress. My apologies if I have made any errors with name spellings, etc. in this review, as it has been a bit since I read it. (Falling behind on my reviews again)
Our little band is aboard the Dark Horizon, and still on the hunt for stardrives. When they hear that a stardrive will be destroyed at the tri-millennial celebration - a ceremony celebrating Earth's achievements over the past three millennia - they concoct a plan to rescue it. In order to do so though, they need to avoid Ellie's murderous mother, and as usual things do not go exactly as planned.
Dark Horizon is the third book in the Legacy Hunter series, and it is just as action packed, exciting, and entertaining as the first two books in the series.
It always amazes me when two authors can team up and write a fantastic book, which keeps you interested from beginning to end. I found it hard to put down once I started reading, I'm just sad it sat on my ereader for so long before I had the opportunity.
Book 3... Loved it! The crew is back but this time on board Dark Horizon. The plot thickens and more is revealed about the controlling ways of Ellie's mother, Rose Cruz. Axle, Ellie and their hodge podge group race against time to stop Rose from galactic domination. This book delves deep into the possibilities of time travel and proves to be a continuation of a great adventure. As I read this series, I cannot wait to find out more of each of the characters - while Shiznit is my favorite, Iris Crane is quickly gaining on the favorites list. Highly recommend this series!
her family is a family she wasn't sure she wanted. her mother wants her dead, her father is a rebel living a double life. her sister is an empath. her mother wants to take over a space station. she needs help to stop her. can they do it? will she survive her mothers plans for her? see by reading
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Action packed, tense, humorous, and overall good fun! New players are introduced, and the ending has a nice twist! If you liked "Queen Killer" and "Star Keeper, " you'll love "Dark Horizon"!
I really loved where the story went! So much action to keep the story flowing, and enough questions to what the heck was going on to keep you turning pages. I love this series!
