What can I say that I haven’t before... Tyche’s Team are back, together again! In one of the most intrepid and action pack story! New plot, new villains, the least expected turns, and full of thrilling edge of seat scenes! Loved it! Especially the new characters and wonderful surprises!

I have at this review only read books two thru five of the “Origins” series, it looks like I may have missed some action in between. That said the author does do a great job of giving you enough back-story for you to fill in the blanks from what you may have missed.
My last book from this author was “Tyche’s Grace” while it was not my favorite book mostly due to the abuse by Grace’s father it didn’t turn me away from the series. It was a bit of a surprise that Grace and Nathan were now an item. After thinking about it she is a good balance to his softer heart getting the best of him at times.
The beginning of this book was a little hard for me to get my rhythm as everyone was scattered. It was a bit more analytical to me than the other books and it wasn’t till about mid-way that I got the pace and was able to flow with the characters and the non-stop action.
As always the author does a great job drawing you into Tyche’s world, you are weaponed up and ready to kick some bad guy butt with the crew. Every damaging hit to Tyche you feel and you reel with the possible loss of the ship. The ship is the constant in all of their worlds and she provides a safe harbor and hope to all of them. Each of the crew finds a way into your heart, some you just want to shake others you just shake you head and say that’s…
The crew of the Tyche has to make some gut wrenching decisions on how best to protect humanity from the AI’s, the Ezeroc plus Kazuo Gushiken, Grace’s father. While Nate wants to save everyone he may find himself having to make the ultimate sacrifice to save humanity as well as his family.
There are many moving parts to this crew and you know that one of them is going to do something stupid and the others will be there when it blows up in their face. They may be a bit annoyed but this crew is a family and while they may yell at each other they will have the others six no matter what.
What I really enjoy about these guys is their foibles and quirks that you just come to love, Hope is peace and love, Kohl is shoot first and maybe we may ask a question if not we keep shooting. El is their direction she does her best to keep them moving in a positive path. Nate is really the big brother we all wish we had, he would go through hell and back for you if he cares for you. Grace is the quiet strength that looks frail but she will take on an army to protect you. Tyche is a home for the many orphans she sees in the world that will make up the parts of a whole to make a strong family. Can’t wait for the next adventure with this crew.

Team Tyche is back, and enemies abound.
The Tyche’s Journey series was seriously excellent. Tyche’s Demons kicks off another trilogy that might be even better.
The evil that Grace was barely able to escape in her childhood (Tyche’s Grace) now engages the whole crew of the Tyche. And with it, rise the entities that almost destroyed the human race hundreds of years ago.
Old memories – harsh / loving / hatred / treachery – come back to dictate the futures of Grace, and Hope; in particular, memories of a father, and memories of a wife.
There is a disconnect between the ending of Tyche’s Crown (third book in the Tyche’s Journey story) and the beginning of Tyche’s Demons (first of the Tyche’s Progeny books). There is a gap in the continuity of the storyline that the reader will have to bridge, accounting for quite a few major changes to the main characters. It eventually does make sense, but the reader has to be willing to do a little more work than usual to catch up with, and keep up with, the story.
In the anthology, “Pew,Pew! - A Fist Full of Pews!, there is a Richard Perry short story – The Chadd – that covers most of the questions that I had about Tyche’s Demons.
Richard Parry is doing some re-writing of Tyche’s Demons with the intention of providing supplemental backstory that will also help. I am providing heckling and derisive comments as my contribution to his efforts.
One SPOILER detail: Nate and Grace have acquired Jedi powers. They continue to make use of their unique swords, instead of light sabres, but ultimately, the deciding of future conflicts will require greater abilities of the mind.

Richard Parry is my favorite sci-fi author hands down. His Tyche series is the best I’ve ever read and his latest effort, “Tyche’s Demons” is absolutely superb.
The adventure continues with Nate and his wonderful crew.
Demons is full to bursting with all the action, adventure and zany humor I’ve grown to love about this series.
If you’re a science fiction fan then you simply can’t do better than Demons and every Tyche tale to date.
I’m absolutely looking forward to the next installment, “Tyche’s Ghosts”.

What a great new Trilogy
Our Tyche crew are back with bigger shoulders , a new republic but bigger problems to face.
Graces past comes back with a vengeance and it seems Humans have more than the Ezeroc to face.
Character development is key to Parrys success and this is no different as each one of our crew get to tell us more of their life.
An excellent jump from the first Trilogy and a great start to this new series . Awag to pre order rhe 2nd book Ghosts jow

This a space opera, pure and simple, but not like any other space opera you have read.
It continues the journey of the starship Tyche snd it’s assorted crew members — the Captain, the Helm, the Engineer, the Deck Hand/Enforcer, and the Esper.
Spoiler here if you haven’t read the previous Tyche adventures. The Captain, Nate, and the Esper, Grace, have ended up as Emperor and Empress of the Empire, graduating from Captain and only an esper of what could courteously be called a privateer to being ferried around the galaxy by a ship of the line with all the comforts due an emperor and his consort.
Life for the Emperor, who prefers to be called Nate, and the rest of the Tyche crew keeps coming back to defending humanity against the Ezeroc, roach like aliens who have the ability to control humans they come in contact with through psi.
Of course, this is an adventure of the Tyche and her crew so they are not pitted solely against giant mind-controlling roaches, they also have to contend with terrorists who don’t want and empire and emperor to exist. Fortunately, they have Kohl, the enforcer who is now a member of the emperor’s guard, the Black, who has to be reminded not to kill everything he perceives as a threat because some aren’t.
The action is intense, frequent, and make it fun to read this tale. The danger is never far from them but they are resilient enough and entertaining enough to make this a real page turner. Somehow, the crew of the Tyche manages to survive collectively and individually everything the universe, the Ezeroc, and the terrorists throw at them.
You will find yourself turning pagers faster and faster the closer you get to the end of this volume then when you finish, you will be looking forward to the next one in the series to see how the Tyche and her crew get through the next set of scrapes, near disasters, and mischief.

Too much profanity
Had to stop reading, can't share this book due to the level of unnecessary profanity. A book can be just as good without it, maybe better. It pushes the author to be creative to get their point across without profanity, try it .

Worth Every Dollar, and then some.
It started with the Origin's Stories, all 5 of them, then Tyche's Journey began with, Tyche's Flight, Tyche's Deciet and finally Tyche's Crown.
But alas, all is not happy endings, unicorns and rainbows.
Thank God! I really am thankful that this Heart-thumping, Crazy-ass, wild Space Opera ride is in actual fact continuing on, with this, Bk1 Tyche's Demon the Ezeroc Wars.
Another edge-of-your-seat, pull you in from the first page, non stop action packed ride.
No disappointments here for a single nanosecond, o.k, maybe one tennie, tiny disappointment!
I'm not liking the 2 month wait for Bk2, "Tyche's Ghost" out in July.
Well worth every dollar and then some.

My favorite characters are back and ready to fight the bugs! Parry once again delivers. Humanity is being decimated by the mind controlling aliens and their allies. It is up to the Tyche's crew to find a way to defeat them. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to cheer for the underdogs against evil aliens and treacherous family members. And while your at it, pick up the the first three books of Tyche's Journey set and see where the bugs originated. You won't be disappointed.

Awesome as usual
This is a rollercoaster ride, with serious tension including assassination attempts and naval actions. The characters old and new are full bodied and their emotions feel so real that I think I forgot at times that it was a novel.
It's best to read this series in sequence and the novella prequels but I know that I could backtrack from any of these books and enjoy them. I think that many readers who like the genre will really like this book.

I received this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. The original trilogy (Tyche's Flight, Tyche's Deceit, Tyche's Crown) each rated four stars from me. Enjoyable space opera, each reading like an episode of an alternate-timeline Firefly.
Tyche's Demons, however, shot up to five stars for me. It feels like that episode of a show where the writing and the characters just suddenly "click" for you. I really loved how Kohl was developed in this episode. I loved the hard decisions that the characters had to make; and I loved knowing that they were hard decisions because of all the preceding story (books 1-3).
The characters are true to themselves, yet are learning to make new decisions in the face of their fears. They are developing their own voices.
This is a terrific payoff book in the series. I loved it.

A great read!
I loved this book! The AI have come back and they're working with the Ezeroc! The Tyche's crew are needed again to fight for the Empire, and to help save humanity.
Once again, Richard Parry has built a lifelike world and populated it with living characters that I have really come to love, and takes them to hell in a rattletrap ship with a heart of gold.

I was really excited to have found this series. Love me some good space adventure & good humor. Easy read.
So this is book 4 and it dropped the bar in a big way.
The signature structure of dialogs - passed funny and shot into ridiculous. Like the author decided he was writing for a caricature stand-up act in the middle of a book. Generally, main characters’ super luck, exaggerated stupidity, increased weirdness.. plot deficiencies… the book is just meh.
A couple of examples, nothing too in-depth:
Nate’s character: “if you would fight the enemy of humanity it was important to look stylish” - huh? The Nate from the previous books was likable and funny.
On a station aka the anarchists ship, the ezeroc is much easier to kill - why? The scene where they took Kohl to Engineering, the bugs never just waited for someone to kill them before… it was a kill on sight.
El went to a bar, storming out in the middle if a situation. On a station full of the ezeroc. Provided, she had a really shitty day, but cowardly El..just leaving.. not seeing it.
PS. October Kohl. Since book 1, I kept waiting for Toby” (October “Toby” Daye). Gotcha
PS2. What happened to Mercenary? No one gave that ship a second thought after it jumped to Paloma…

Another good story in the series
This story picks up from the end of the last and sees the crew of the Tyche in a whole lot of trouble from earth to Cantor and more. Good action and character development. Look forward to the next installment.

Another fantastic story in the Tyche series. A great plot, the same wonderful characters with some few faces, of course. And that excellent characterisation that is so much of what draws me into these books.

Brilliant
Promotions haven't changed these great characters, just given them more ways to get into trouble. Which can be a problem when you're trying to save all of humanity, just as well their ship is the Goddess of Luck.

We are treated to another chapter in the ongoing fight for humanities survival. And once again, we are shown that the aliens are not the only threat.
Excellent writing and a solid story which manages to pack non-stop action and tender human emotions into one book. The characters continue to grow and drive the story forward. I almost wish I could put it down so that I could savor it a little longer.
