This is a well written book that I could not put down. I felt drawn to the main character from the first chapter. This is a story that brings to life the journey of the handcart pioneers. Having ancestors that also made this journey across the plains to Utah, I felt invested in the story and it's outcome. Journey of the Heart is a novel with adventure, drama and romance. It also is a story of coming to terms with with matters most in your life.

This book was written by my bishop and so I spent the first few chapters thinking about how hard it would be to write a novel and soon I was lost in the story. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone that hasn't read it yet so I won't go into too much detail but it had some twists that I did not see coming and I really enjoyed the historical aspect of it all. So much is based on actual events and I was drawn in wanting to see how it would all end. It was a fun lighthearted read. Great for any teenager and even adults like me would enjoy as a quick read this summer.
