An absolutely wonderfully nostalgic (well, for me at least) very belated (and delightfully surprising) birthday present, I absolutely and utterly love love love that German publisher Oetinger offers with Astrid Lindgren Edition: Die schönsten Romane und Erzählungen für Kinder a set of twelve Astrid Lindgren authored books (and translated into German of course) and which basically present most of Lindgren's children's (her middle grade) novels and short stories. And yes, it is particularly superb and appreciated that with Astrid Lindgren Edition: Die schönsten Romane und Erzählungen für Kinder, for those Astrid Lindgren novels that are a series, Oetinger features them in all-encompassing omnibuses, so that one for example gets all of the Pippi Longstocking novels, all of the Noisy Village novels, all of the Madicken novels etc. etc. in one single volume, which I totally do adore and also majorly so, not to mention that the individual hardcover books also have aside from the Lindgren texts (from the stories) all of the original illustrations included as well (mostly drawn by Ilon Wikland and some by Klaus Lemke, whose illustrations are alright but not in any way as visually lovely and as luminous as Ilon Wikland's artwork tends to be).

Anyhow, for me, Astrid Lindgren Edition: Die schönsten Romane und Erzählungen für Kinder is hugely magical and totally, fully rating with five solidly glowing stars just for the set-up alone and for me now having this all encompassing set of Astrid Lindgren in German translation at my immediate reading disposal, a set of novels and stories that is of course a bit pricey, but considering that one gets twelve very nice hardcover tomes, the asking price for Astrid Lindgren Edition: Die schönsten Romane und Erzählungen für Kinder is actually not all that outrageous and is in fact and definitely much less expensive than obtaining each of the respective books separately (and Oetinger indeed also has these twelve tomes available singly). Highly recommended for Astrid Lindgren in German translation enthusiasts, but yes, my reviews for those twelve volumes, they are found and will be found on the individual book pages, with Astrid Lindgren Edition: Die schönsten Romane und Erzählungen für Kinder just showing my adoration and appreciation of this twelve book set being available and that I am now able to read those Astrid Lindgren novels and short stories I have not yet read, that I did not peruse during my childhood (and that I will also be rereading those Lindgren middle grade novels and stories I have already read and reviewed, and oh boy, am I ever looking forward to this).
