The author, a cruise director who logged over 300 cruises for Royal Viking Line, Regency cruises and other luxurious world class cruise ships, provides a fascinating account of his experiences, full of lively anecdotes about passengers and their foibles; recalcitrant members of the crew; difficult passengers; voyages when everything (including navigation!) goes wrong, and much more.

I was given this book as a gift during recuperation. I live on Cape Cod where Derek Mann and his wife Barbara still live. I found the author to be rather amusing, and his stories of a career as a cruise director, primarily for Royal Viking Line, we’re quite interesting. The book was well written.
