A delightful introduction to the shorter work of some authors I'd never read before, including Joan Aiken, Dorothy Sayers and Mazo de la Roche. The selections are neither sentimental nor cloying; some are quite unsettling. But in all ten the feline temperament shines, even (or especially) when the human characters are less than admirable.
