The most comprehensive book I've read on keeping dairy goats. The author goes into great detail that was helpful to this beginner, but includes enough science-based and ancedotal, personal experience that I would guess even seasoned goat keepers might find this book helpful.
Despite being written decades ago, her emphasis on the importance of avoiding pesticides and processed feed, not over-medicating her goats to keep their milk clean echoes the emerging concerns of our time about the crud that is in our good, and those issues are certainly is important to me. She was way ahead of her time. She comes at problems from so many angles and really helps readers make informed decisions about how to address the host of questions that arise when they decide they want to keep goats.
My copy is clearly older and out of print and I bought it used. It is a treasure and I know I will be referencing it regularly once our goats arrive.
