Will they be enough to save their town and relationship?

Forever at Risk is the first book in the Terror, MN series. Val is a dragon shifter and the sheriff of Terror MN, a special town full of the supernatural. When the peace of the town is threatened, Val is forced to ask for help from Twyla, his ex, and an earth witch. Working together, their attraction flares again, but will they be enough to save their town and their budding relationship?

I really enjoyed reading this book! I absolutely loved Ms. Emerald’s creativity when it came to the supernatural world and Val and Twyla were a match full of adventure, action, and a passion for each other. Val was so protective of his town and those under his protection, and I liked his attitude of wanting to get things done. Twyla was a great match for him because she was able to live in the moment, enjoy more than just work, and while she was practical, she was able to dream of a future. I thought they worked well together to drive out the threat, and I enjoyed their budding relationship. I think this book could have benefited from a little more character development, but I liked the pace of the book and the way I was able to escape into the book as well!

I first read about Twyla (sorceress) and Val (dragon shifter) in the Nocturne Falls series. This is a short story about them before that series. They are ex’s, but still have feelings for one another. Val is the sheriff and has had a veakling vamp in his jail for a year. The Council needs to decide what to do with him because it was causing unrest among the other vamp factions. Not only that, now demons are running amok~ they are all after Twyla because she put the spell on an item that keeps Payton from using vamp magic. Val, her mother Nora, another dragon, and others will fight to keep her and the town safe. But what will finally happen? What can they do with Payton? I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Our hero is the sheriff of this town where paranormals can live free of human and their issues. But when things go bad, he has to turn to our heroine, his ex. Oh boy.

This is a somewhat quirky paranormal romance. The setting is unique, which makes it very interesting as a starting point. I also liked the characters and would like to know more about them, but then that is usually the case. The story itself is well written and easy to read with an intriguing plot that has a nice mystery as well as a bit of humor. I would have liked a little more depth to the story, but I still enjoyed it rather much. I look forward to seeing how it develops in future books.

Recommended.

I really liked the premise of the Terror, MN Series by Larissa Emerald, and this first book dealt with what could have been a rather dark subject in a light-handed manner which kept the story from turning too dark in tone. The characters are a mixed bag of Angels, Witches, Vampires, Shifters, demons, and a few humans thrown in for good measure, none of whom are fully developed as of yet in the story. The suspense is built up rather nicely, while the action if minimally described while the novella ends way too soon. I eagerly await reading the next book in this series. This was a charming sweet paranormal romance in the same vein as Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls Universe. I am so glad that there is another haven for supernaturals other than Nocturne Falls - there are not enough of them. Terror, Montana appears to be the place for supernaturals with a more predatory bent than those who inhabit Nocturne Falls. That's good - that gives each town its own unique character. Now for Book 2 ....

I really like this first book in this series. You get a great introduction to the town and the people. Val is a fun Sheriff to read about. Val and Twyla have unfinished business. Luckily for us reading this book they are thrown together to help Twyla from some vampires. If you love Paranormal Romances with small town cozy mysteries then pick up this book. I look forward to more in this series.

Years ago, he chose work over her, will he make the same choice twice? Will they find out what is going on in their little town?

Loved the connection between these two even after all their years apart. I loved how she stood up and was determined to do something and not be put on the side lines. I didn't blame him for being protective and wanting to keep her out of it, but loved how he wasn't going to let her go a second time. Good read!

Terror, MN is a town where different types of supernaturals can live away from humans. I like how the author puts her own spin on things. I haven’t read many stories where vampires originated on another planet. This was an enjoyable story and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Sheriff Val is a dragon shifter who has a criminal vampire, Peyton, in his jail. His fellow vampires want him released. When the vampires try to trade Val's ex Twyla for Peyton, bad things start to happen and Val decides it's time to try it again with Twyla. The story was funny, serious, a little sexy and a real nice quick read.

Interesting

I like the story, but the ending was not well done. I understand that you need to leave a seque to the next book but that was not done here. Also. I found numerous grammatical errors. Very poor editing.
