My mom would read this book to me before my “real” book choice for the night. She would have me guess what time it was (play time, dinner time, time to run) etc and if I was wrong she would go “Noooo...” and I LOVED it. I ended up memorizing the book but she made the “Nooo...” so fun I would make sure to get it wrong anyway and say it with her. I always knew it ended with “It’s time to read”.

Very fun interactive book! Uses a lot of good verbs and could be good to introduce verbs to students or could just be a simple book for beginner readers! All different animals on each page so also very fun to explore animals
I picked this from our shelves today thinking it would be about telling time, but it is not quite that sophisticated. The creatures in the book are asking, 'What time is it?' and ultimately the reader discovers it is 'time to read.' So the time in the book is not clock related as much as activity related: dinner time, play time, etc. Those expecting a book teaching how to tell time should look somewhere else. Those just wanting a simple book with repeated phrases could try it out. It would be a great book to read when talking about interrogative sentences because almost the entire text is questions. The illustrations do make the book look a little dated as well, but younger kids should not care.
