Whatever comes up during the day, you can amuse your friends by asking a riddle about it--eating, studying for a test, going to the mall, watching TV, or playing with a pet. Sports, animals, everything's an opportunity to show off how clever you are. What are the smartest insects? Spelling bees. What do astronomers sing in the shower? When You Wash Upon a Star. What lullaby do you sing to fish? Salmon Enchanted Evening. What subject do snakes like best in school? Hissssstory. What starts with an "e" and has only one letter in it? Envelope. What did the Englishman say to the man from Honolulu? How ah ye? And hundreds more!
This is a long and funny book of riddles. So many of the riddles involve word play that goes right over our girls' heads and I have to explain them, but they still love these kinds of books and crack up at the ones they get. I actually like that it gives me a chance to explain some idioms that have never really come up before and they learn a little more about our very strange English language. Overall, it's an entertaining book and if you need a joke or riddle for just about any topic, you can probably find one here.
