Historia de Iberoamerica by Manuel Rodriguez Lapuente (professor of this item at the University of Queretaro in Mexico City) is a complete historica loverview with the precolumbian period (analysis of the different tribes of natives), the period of the conquistadores, the period of the Spanish and Portuguese domination. Then comes the perioid of the independence wars and the period of the independent republics. The division of the periods in respective chapters and also the subdivisions is good and rigidly followed. Every part starts with a series of global considerations which give a good insight in the causes of the historical evolutions. Attention is given to the social context and the opinions at the time. This considerations are a good guide to follow the course of the facts described in the chapters and paragraphs. The analysis is neutral and to the fact and always limited to what really is important. The book is written in a style that is easy to read.
