I've been a big fan of the T'au since their initial release, so have really been looking forward to this edition of their Codex and it hasn't disappointed.
The timeline has been moved along as far as the timeline is concerned and there have been some pretty big changes for them since the last Codex. A new sphere of expansion, assassination and their first big disaster. it's going to be interesting to see how this effects them as a race going forward.
It has all the stuff that a Codex would be expected to have; background, timeline, character and unit descriptions, pretty pictures and, of course, rules.
The army list is very comprehensive and seems solidly put together, but not having played a massive amount of games in the current edition of Warhammer 40,000 I still haven't fully got to grips with the new format for the lists. I can manage an army list no problem, but it doesn't feel as slick as the previous versions. This is probably just me though, so it's not something I'm going to mark it down for.
"The T'au'va frees us from the anarchy of disunity and the tyranny of the self. It frees us from corruption, jealousy and petty ambition. What more wondrous gift can there be than to understand from birth one's place in the universe? Than to know, with utmost surety, that you live and die in the name of enlightenment and reason. We will bring this precious freedom to the galaxy's suffering masses, even if we must do so at the barrel of a pulse rifle."
