Conflict and Invention: Literary, Rhetorical, and Social Studies on the Sayings Gospel Q

Rate this book
The contributions to this volume are by participants in the Society of Biblical Literature's "Q Seminar" and "Q Section." Conflict and Invention therefore consists of seminal studies of compositional and literary-critical issues related to the earliest extensive collection of Jesus' sayings known as Q, and the question of the social-historical location of Q. The studies are grouped according to three (1) the social map of Q, (2) the composition an rhetoric of Q's inaugural sermon, and (3) John the Baptist in Q.
