As far as "self help" books go this one is quite early and from the late 90s.i thought the early half of the book was strongest. Essentially nudging the reader to take responsibility of their lives and breaking goals up into manageable chunks.

Typically inserted quotes can be hit or miss however I found these ones quite relevant to ponder.

The later half of the book gets a bit lost and the wrap up is very poor.

For all the talk of "Go Mad TM" (don't forget the TM) I don't really know what that means. Apart from taking responsibility for my own actions and putting the work in.

I'd recommend the beginnings of the book to someone who needs a light push into taking responsibility for their lives. Skip the later chapters, they are adverts for other books.

The framework outlined is disarmingly simple, but that makes it memorable and therefore likely to be practical. It's all common sense, but the interlinks made between elements make it more powerful. Very simply and easily presented. Style is a bit cheesy in places.

I'm reading this one in preparation for a work leadership programme and while it was slow to start, once I sat down and read a lot in one sitting (instead of piecemeal on the tube) it was much better. Lots of thought-provoking questions and exercises designed to make you think about what you really want in life and what you are really prepared to do to get it.

I have been researching the topic "how to achieve more in life and business" with a view to publishing a best practice book.

Was excited (& a little frustrated) when I discovered someone else had already done it! In a very clear and accessible way.
