It’s supposed to be the happiest time in 64-year-old Beatrice Young’s life—she’s finally planning a wedding to marry the man of her dreams. But when a shocking surprise shows up at her bridal shower, she knows a heinous villain is determined to ruin everything.
As the amateur sleuth scrambles to send out invitations, choose the perfect dress, and design the menu, her enemy is one step behind, spoiling every single moment in the most fiendish ways possible. Thankfully, Beatrice’s best friend the sheriff is hot on the case as well as maid of honor-zilla Zoe, who won’t let ANYTHING stand in the way of the bride's happiness.
In the end, the stalker’s fatal weakness might be the perfect opportunity for Beatrice’s four crime-fighting cats to save the day and turn a nuptial nightmare into wedding bliss.
This is the fourteenth book in the Beatrice Young cozy cat mystery series. It can be read as a standalone but is extra delightful when enjoyed in sequence. This novella is a clean mystery with no graphic violence, sex, or swearing.
The storyline left a lot to be desired ad as I suspected this series has come to having out ran it's best by date. After the earlier books that had humour and a lot of emotion, this one feels like a let down. At least for me. With the wedding coming ever closer, Zoe has arranged a bridal shower. This is ruined when a courier brings a parcel. Filled with a pair of feet. Who would do this. Another gruesome parcel has everyone trying to fins the culprit. Will they do so before the big day and before anything happens to Bee.
What a terrible way up end a series. This could have been such a good book with Beatrice and Matt' s wedding what was this author thinking to have an insane killer and kidnapper ruining it. This is so far from being like this last 13 books and nothing at all like a cozy mystery. If this is the author's new idea of entertaining cozy mystery then I got one am delighted it is the end!
I really like Beatrice Young and her cats as well as the other characters. I'm glad she and Matthew are getting married. Reading this book, I thought there was so much potential in the plot so I was disappointed that the "fiend" portion was quickly finished.
I love Bee and her gang of cats. Since I am 66 years young I can certainly relate to her but I must admit I do have a few more furry children, have been married almost 36 years and fortunately haven't had any murders dropped in my lap to solve.
I love Bea and the cats book 14 and I still can't wait till the next one if you're like me and love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that will keep you turning the page then this series by Alannah Rogers is a must read
