The Beginner's Handbook of Dowsing: The Ancient Art of Divining Underground Water Sources

Rate this book
For all who want to experience the thrill and exhilaration of finding a clear, cool, free-flowing supply of pure water on their own land, “The Beginner’s Handbook of Dowsing” is the one book available today that explains this ancient skill. Written by an eminent dowser, illustrated with clear informative step-by-step line drawings, this concise guide covers all phases of dowsing, from its origins in the sixteenth century to its present-day uses. The author demonstrates the proper type of divining rod to use (“as simple as a forked branch or as complex as electronic gear”) and details the proper way to hold the rod for best results. Beginning dowsers can also learn the correct way to walk with the rod, what to look for when trying to find the Point of Greatest Pull, and how to determine the depth and the flow of the underground source for water. There are even instructions on how to dig, drive, or bore your own well!

I chose this book to gain additional insight on dowsing. I had about 5 minutes to pick a couple more library books before they closed. I saw the word "dowsing" and hoped it dealt more with pendulum dowsing as opposed to tree branch dowsing. It was a short book (31 pgs.), so I read it happily while there was down time at work. 'Great for anyone wanting to learn how to dowse for water well sources.
