A quickly moving rhyming text celebrating the joys of the individual members of a young girl’s family. Delightful, probably a little dated for today’s young children as there are no cell phones or video games in these shared activities.
And only those of us of a mature age will have any concept of the line “keeps all the hems in my dresses growin” regarding the Mother sewing and adjusting the hems as the young girl grows. Even with the “dated” concepts I still loved this title. Maybe someone working with a senior living facility would find use for this title.

This is a traditional literature, overall I enjoyed this book the message is to explain how different family members will love you in different ways. It teaches a valuable lesson about family and how everyone has a different way of bonding with you and showing their love. The message was great and its deliverance was very clear and I feel as though it'll be taken the way it was meant to by children. This is also great because children are able to relate this to personal experiences in their lives. The illustrations could have been better considering that the audience are elementary aged children. There wasn't a rich plot but it was still very relatable for the age of the expected audience. Overall, good message and book!

I got a family is a children's fiction book with pictures. The style and language of the book is appropriate for children according to their interest. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I believe children would also enjoy listening to it as it includes pictures with rhyming words eg dish/wish, pie/eye, etc and creative expressions. It expresses from a child's perspective about the roles of a whole family loving and caring for her (parents, siblings, grandparents, and pets), how they help her learn different tasks and how she enjoys spending time with them while they enjoy fun activities.

I Got a Family, written by Melrose Cooper, is a fictional children's literature for children aged 4-8 years old. This book is a really good book for kids because it describes how everybody in their life plays an important role. The little girl in the book explains how the people in her life and the relationship they have with one another. She talks about her grandmother, mom and dad, uncle and aunt, brother and pet. She talks about all the ways they love her and the special things they do together. This book also represents the children that have a big family or who is close to their extended family. This book has a lot of colorful illustrations. It had people of different colors and a lot of activities that most kids can relate to. It appeals to young readers and the illustrations relate to the text. The book is easy to read and it also rhymes. I think that rhyming books are good for kids to read because they can practice word pronunciation.

We all have a family that loves us. Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Grandparents. This book illustrates some of the different ways these people show their love. It makes me feel like I want to be a better mother, sister, aunt, cousin etc.

*Talking Points - what family do you have and how do you know they love you?

This is another book that is good to have in your classroom for talks on families. This is a book with the main character being a little girl. She goes through each of her family members that she has and talks about the special relationship they share and the things they do together. It is a very cute book. It is good to discuss extended families.
